🌡️ 90+ DEGREES IS NO JOKE: The Festival of Spring will sadly end early Mother Nature is cranking up the thermostat this week, and unfortunately, tulips don’t have an "Air Conditioning" setting. As many of you know, tulips are cold-weather crops. They thrive in the chill. With a 90-degree heatwave looming, our blooms will be retiring much faster than any of us anticipated. Because we want your final memories of the farm to be beautiful—not wilted—we are officially moving up our closing date. The Details: When we kicked off on March 30th, we had every reason to believe we’d be blooming with you through Sunday, April 19th. The spring forecast was favorable, but the weather has taken an unexpected turn. Closing early is the last thing we wanted to do, but it is the right thing to do for our visitors. 🗓️ FINAL DAY: We will officially close the gates for the season on Tuesday, April 14th, at dusk. 🎟️ REFUND INFORMATION: For those of you with tickets for Wednesday, April 15th, through Sunday, April 19th, we have you covered. You will receive an automatic refund for your purchase. There is no need to email or call; our system will handle the rest! 🌻 LOOKING AHEAD: A Golden Summer Don't pack away your cameras just yet! While the tulips are taking an early bow, we are already preparing for summer. We are planting the entire farm—all 78 available planting acres—with sunflowers! It’s going to be seas of gold as far as the eye can see. The Summer of Sunflowers: Begins around July 12th Duration: Running through the first week of August Thank you for an incredible (though short!) season. We’re so glad we got to share the fields with you while the weather was on our side. Come catch those last photos before the sun sets on Tuesday! 🌷✨ Please stay cool and thank you for being a friend of the farm!

The colors are absolutely breathtaking right now! 🌷 We’ve hit Peak Bloom week, and the fields should stay this way through the upcoming weekend. Looking for a quieter visit? 🌿 If you have some flexibility in your schedule, we highly recommend a weekday trip! The pace is a little slower, the lines are shorter, and you can truly take your time soaking in the views. Visit this week to beat next week's heatwave. Quick Reminders: 🎟️ Tickets must be purchased online in advance. 🍔 Our food truck lineup is ready to serve you every day! Check the field report at the link in bio for food trucks available each day. 🕒 Check the link in our bio/description for ticket info and entry times. We also want to take a moment to say a huge "thank you" to everyone who has visited us so far this year and has tagged us or shared pictures. Seeing the farm through your eyes is our favorite part of the season. We hope to see you in the flower fields soon! 🌷 Thank you for being a friend of the farm!

Easter Sunday: We’re OPEN! 🐣🌧️ Spring showers are in the forecast, but we'll still be open this Easter Sunday. We’re expecting around 1/2" of rain, so plan for a wet day and dress accordingly. Rainy weather is tulip weather! The good news: we’re not expecting a total washout, and there’s even hope for some late-day sun. ✨ A few tips before you come: • Wear rain boots and waterproof layers • Borrow one of our signature tulip umbrellas • Keep in mind that some activities and wagon rides may pause during heavier rain 🎟️ Need to reschedule your tickets? Tickets are still available for Easter Monday and next weekend, April 11-12th. Just email [email protected], and we’ll be happy to help. Thank you for being a friend of the farm!

It only lasts about 10 days, so don’t wait! 🎟️ Ticket Update: Saturday, April 4th: Officially SOLD OUT. Pro-Tip: We release a limited number of "Day-of" tickets every morning at 6:00 AM. Day-of tickets sell out very quickly. Set those alarms! Note: Tickets are online only (link in bio). Are tulips perennial or annual? The answer is… it depends. In Virginia and beyond, many gardeners replant tulips each fall for guaranteed spring color—but with the right varieties and great drainage, some can return for years (we carry Darwin Hybrids, Emperor/Fosteriana, and select Triumphs for stronger perennial performance). Learn more: /perennial-or-annual🌷 Shipping update: Our first bulbs have left the Port of Rotterdam and are crossing the Atlantic en route to the Port of Norfolk, VA. We’ll begin shipping the last week of October and the first week of November. 🚚 TARIFF-FREE for you: Although we’re being charged a 15% import tariff on tulip bulbs this season, we felt it would be unfair to pass that on. We’re covering the tariff this year. If tariffs remain in place next year, we’ll adjust 2026 pricing accordingly. ⏰ Final day of bulb sales: October 31 🛒 Shop now: /bulb-shop 🔗 All our links: https://linktr.ee/burnsidefarms 📖 Learn more: our “Perennial or Annual?” tulip guide (link in bio) 🌱 Planting season for spring-blooming bulbs: November–December (when soil temps are around 50–55°F).
