For the Burning Mirror Foundation Launch Dinner, we had the privilege of working with London based floral artist
@hamishpowell . Hamish’s floral sculptures are themselves living, ephemeral artworks that act in dialogue with contemporary and historic visual and architectural discourses.
One of the fundraising initiatives for the Launch supported an
@artfund grant contributing to the acquisition of an eighteenth century floral still-life (details have not yet been publicly announced). Hamish’s floral artworks reference this painting whilst expressing its movement, life, and handling of time in a novel, embodied form. They speak to the power of art to move — not only to inspire but to articulate itself in time, space, and material across centuries and geographies.
To Hamish, Doreen, and your entire team, thank you.
