🚨 Everything you bring in, you take out. No exceptions.
This is where MOOP (Matter Out Of Place) comes in.
MOOP is anything that doesn’t belong on the land — glitter, cigarette butts, zip ties, food scraps, even the tiniest fragment.
If it wasn’t there before you arrived, it’s MOOP.
✨ That means:
Clean your camp thoroughly
Pick up after yourself and others
Do MOOP sweeps regularly
Think ahead — avoid bringing things that can easily become MOOP
Leaving No Trace isn’t just about cleaning up — it’s about respecting the land, the community, and the experience we’re all creating together.
When we leave, it should look like we were never there… or even better.

Introducing This Year’s Temple: The Star Crucible of the Temple Tree
There are things we carry that don’t belong in the next chapter.
The Temple is where they can shift — to be held, witnessed, woven into the stars, and made part of something larger than ourselves.
Here, you are invited to place your offerings into the Star Crucible. Symbols, fragments, memories, intentions — all are welcome to rest within this shared space. You may also mark a lantern to carry your thread forward.
This is a place of release, reflection, and transformation — where what we hold can soften, change shape, and return to something greater.
On Sunday, we will walk together in a quiet procession from the Temple to the Effigy — carrying with us what we have been holding, and what we are ready to leave behind.
You are invited.
Bring what is heavy. Let it be seen. Let it move.

Interstella Fella: A Many‑Hands‑in‑the‑Fire Community Build
At this year’s Pilot Burn, the Effigy won’t arrive finished. It will become — shaped by many hands, many stories, and many curious humans keen to make something wild together.
A simple wooden base will rise from the paddock, waiting for us to imagine it into being. Using sticks, branches and found materials, we’ll dress the creature. We’ll have plywood and power tools onsite so you can cut cosmic shapes, paint them, and attach them to the Effigy or place them around its base. Every piece added becomes a blessing, a joke, a moment of play — a mark in the story.
Together we’ll build a creature that could only exist because we gathered.
To honour its interstella adventures, we’re also building a tall white entrance Portal — a 3‑metre glowing gateway made from plywood panels. Help cut, screw, hinge, paint, decorate and transform it across the weekend. By night it will glow; by day you’re invited to paint on it.
No experience needed. Just curiosity, willingness and a sense of play. Drop in for 10 minutes or stay for hours. We’ll be building Friday and Saturday until it burns.
This is art as process. Art as community. Art as the beating heart of the burn. Come build the heart of the burn with us.
