Took some time away from candles this summer and filled my time with all sorts of sweet stuff. Now things are winding down and we finally have some crispy weather. So consider this my proof of life and that candle season is officially here!

I’ve been enjoying the natural slow down that summer can bring to the candle side of things. But realized that the bathroom project needed its official reveal! Couldn’t be happier with how everything came together 🧡 The tile came from my main job @mercurymosaics and is 100% secondhand tile. Not quite perfect is various ways, but perfect for this project’s vision. Ended up going with a more muted paint color to let the tile really shine!
My favorite weekend of the year!
Every year me and my friends pick a city a couple hours away and thrift our way there for a weekend getaway. Stops include antique malls, thrift stores, estate sales, dive bars, supper clubs and whatever other spots call to us.
This year (year 4!) we chose Eau Claire, WI. Highlights included:
• A surprise stop at the @svenclogs outlet
• Bloody Mary’s + Pink Squirrels at Dalles House Restaurant
• Finding a hand knit ‘I love my Collie’ sweater for $2.85!
• Scoring the wool blanket of my dreams (making into a jacket 😍)
• The weird little dude @rachdunn103 found at the end of the reel

Join Burn Boss Studios and Flash Flood Portraits for this fun collab workshop of candle pouring and sketch portraits! December 10th from 6pm-8pm at the Toolbox Collective. Perfect for date night, night out with friends, or a gift for the holidays.
Bring your own vessels to pour candles into or purchase thrifted vessels from Burn Boss for an extra fee. During the class, you’ll learn how the basics for how to scent and pour your own candles.
Then, while you wait for you candles to set, get a speed portrait done by Flash Flood Portraits ($20 for individual for $30 for 2 people)

5 years 🕯️!! Feels like yesterday I was pouring my first batch of candles at the kitchen table. And now we’re here! Countless pounds of wax, broken vessels, hours of podcasts and hand cut wildflower candle toppers later.

Collaborating, meeting other makers and watching as they lean into their art is what keeps me going and has me continually falling in love with this community. This month felt extra full of that ❤️
1.) Saw my friend @alisslauren first ceramic collection for @isolde.home 😍 I finally got to see in person and it had me wishing I had more room in my carry on
2+3.) I haven’t talked about this nearly enough. My very first candle making class in collaboration with @cactusinacan at @thetoolboxcollective was this past month! So much fun and looking forward to more
4.) Took my first (and certainly not my last) collage making class with @ashtynsibinskiart it was such a beautiful morning creating with other artists
5.) Did a candle collab with the ceramic artist @emmalekonrad I fell in love with her work when I first saw it and still in awe of these beautiful pieces 🧡
6.) Met and collaborated with the incredibly talented and hilarious @rubinskiworks on a mosaic kit with @mosaiccandyshop
7.) Attended @streetfactorymedia annual customer appreciation party and watched them strut their skills. House of Frills did not disappoint (@thejimdunn )
