Celebrating Earth Day with our 2025 Positive Impacts. Protecting our planet drives everything we do, and the results are in our supply chain. Reliable. Responsible. Real impacts.
Here are a few highlights from our 2025 Positive Impact Report.
🌊 We've now collected over 8,000 metric tons of fishing nets to make NetPlus material since 2013.
🤝 In 2025, we picked up 121 loads of used nets from 21 fishing communities across 6 countries.
♻️ Now you can find NetPlus in hundreds of product lines made by 70 different brands.
🌱 In collaboration with our fishery partners, we’ve provided funding to 14 @1percentftp environmental non-profits.

Bureo has been a Certified B Corporation™ since 2015. For us, it means doing business the right way. Not the easy way. It means prioritizing people and our natural world as we work hard to grow our business and deliver a more responsible form of nylon to the industry while keeping fishing net waste out of the ocean.

Technical by nature.
This year, we’ve evolved the OPR Collection through a technical collaboration with @pertexfabric and @bureo . By integrating Pertex Equilibrium made from NetPlus®—a fabric engineered from recycled, end-of-life fishing nets—we’re actively preventing ocean plastic pollution and supporting a cleaner supply chain.
The result? A material that’s lighter, stretchier, and more breathable than ever. It’s trail-tough performance that clears the way for a better future on the dirt.

Reflecting on 2025: What a year!
We reached some major milestones, including surpassing 17 million pounds of nets rescued! Sincerely grateful for our incredible team, brand partners, and fishing communities who make the impact of NetPlus possible. Together, we’re driving meaningful change.
Some highlights from the year…
1. The team at our net processing facility in Chile.
2. Added new rooftop solar panels, powering our net recycling.
3. Invested in new machinery, turning discarded nets into NetPlus on-site.
4. Launched the R&D Helium Loop Anorak with @peakperformance and other innovators.
5. We won an ISPO award for its circular design!
6. @outerknown redesigned the APEX Trunk using NetPlus stretch fabric.
7. @vuoriclothing launched its first-ever snow collection with NetPlus 4-layer fabric.
8. Supported 15 community projects through our partnership with @1percentftp .

____
On the beaches of Talcahuano, the landscape was once interrupted by a silent presence: ghost nets. Abandoned fishing nets that would continue to harm marine ecosystems long after the boats returned to port.
In 2013, Bureo decided that this ending wasn't inevitable. Together with local fishers, they began collecting nets at the end of their useful life, and transforming them into NetPlus—a traceable, low-impact raw material that today is used in many of our most durable products.
But this story goes beyond manufacturing.
Through a collaboration that bridges art and education, part of the NetPlus material found its way to Nube Lab and became “La Carpa de la Medusa”—a traveling educational installation that journeys along Chile’s coastline. A space where science and community meet under one structure, reimagining our relationship with the ocean.
This isn’t just recycling—it’s about transforming an environmental problem into a tool for social change.
Innovation doesn’t always start in a lab. Sometimes it starts by rethinking what already exists and turning to nature for answers.
Meet The Huascarán Jacket. Years in the making and inspired by the retro climbing jackets of the past, the Huascarán uses Pertex® fabric made from NetPlus®, which is created by recycling discarded fishing nets gathered off the coast of South America. It’s insulated with PAKA’s patented PAKAFILL® ethical alpaca insulation.
Launching Wednesday, February 4 at 8am PT, with only 370 available. 🏔️🇵🇪
A huge thank you to the amazing teams at @bureo and @pertexfabric for the collaboration to bring the Huascarán to life.
It’s a jacket with a good story. Our reversible Switch features NetPlus® fabric made from 100% post-consumer recycled fishing nets. Responsibly-sourced from fishing communities around the world, the nets are transformed into good-as-new nylon to build long-lasting wear.
Purposeful by Design. Responsible by Choice.

Made to be unmade. The world’s first fully recyclable down jacket.
A concept piece collaboration between @peakperformance , @alliedfeatheranddown , @resortecs , @pertexfabric , and our team at Bureo, proving circularity is possible (but it’s no solo sport).

Re:cycling 🚴♻️
Turning fishing net waste into high-performance gear, @albion.cycling ’s new Unisex Zoa Rain Shell is the lightweight layer you want when the weather’s iffy but your ride has just begun. Waterproof, breathable, and packable, featuring Pertex® Shield Pro with 100% NetPlus® recycled nylon face fabric to keep you riding no matter the conditions.
On this #GivingTuesday we want to celebrate one of the organizations we’ve been working with to provide recycling access for our fishing communities.
Last year, we joined forces with @fundacionelarbol , @creoreciclaje , and our local fishery partner to build out a new and improved Punto Limpio recycling center at an elementary school near our headquarters in Chile, where the community can recycle cardboard, paper, and plastic bottles. One year later, it’s going strong! ♻️🌊
As a member of @1percentftp , this is one way we’re giving back to the fishing communities where we source our nets. Link in bio for a deeper dive into our impact projects.

Made to be unmade.
Recently honored with the ISPO Award for innovation and design, the Helium Loop Anorak is the world’s first fully recyclable down jacket, a prototype designed with premium materials, zero excess and a stitching that heat-activates for end-of-life recycling.
Developed together with NetPlus®, ALLIED Feather + Down, Resortecs, and PERTEX, it’s proof that true circularity is about engineering garments to be unmade as thoughtfully as they’re made.
