It’s hard to believe it’s been one month since we lost our beloved Janet Tacy, founder of Sandcastle Celebrations. On behalf of the SLO Wedding Planners, we wanted to express our love for our dear friend, and share how we intend to honor her moving forward.
Janet was like the mom and the rock of our group, and her passing has been absolutely devastating for us. Our love for Janet is immeasurable, as it is for so many others who had the honor of loving her.
Janet was not only a gifted Wedding Planner and a founding member of the SLO Wedding Planners group, but was a cornerstone of our community—helping shape the heart and spirit of this group from the very beginning. She poured her heart into every celebration she created, filling each one with beauty, meaning, and joy. Her warmth, kindness, and strength made her a beloved friend, collaborator, and mentor. Janet supported others with generosity and grace, always leading with love and lifting those around her.
To carry her beautiful spirit forward, the SLO Wedding Planners will begin hosting Tacy & Co. events in Janet’s honor, inspired by the rebrand she was so excited to launch. Once each quarter, we’ll gather to give back to the community through activities that were meaningful to her. These gatherings will be a way for all of us to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate the joy, laughter, service, and deep connection that Janet brought into our lives and our work. Her presence touched countless lives, and her light will continue to shine brightly within our community. She will always be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Janet’s family would like you to know that her official celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date this year. These Tacy & Co. gatherings are a way for us to continue Janet’s legacy of giving back to the community. Her family and close friends hope to see you at our first gathering.
Our first Tacy & Co. event will be Monday, June 23rd at Grover Beach. We will do a beach clean-up from 4-5pm, and a bonfire from 5-8pm. Details about this event and future Tacy & Co. events will be available on our website - sloweddingplanners.com.
