The weight busy moms carry. This is almost everyday for me. Last night, I worked late and then I went into Reagan’s room to wish her good night and she had already fallen asleep. She asked me to play with her, and I couldn’t. She asked me to hit tennis balls with her but I had to be there for my team. Every night I go to sleep feeling guilty and every day the cycle starts over and over until one day she will stop asking me. One day, I’ll be so annoying and weird and not fun and wanted. One day, I know I will look back and have many feelings. I don’t know the right answer or pathway here. I do know this can apply to all parents and to both sons and daughters. But for some reason it all feels more acute with Reagan. I don’t know how to explain this but I share a small glimpse through this animated carousel. Hugging moms who carry this, too.
