The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 was introduced with the aim of keeping the public safe, yet its breed-specific restrictions have caused far more suffering than protection. By targeting dogs based solely on their appearance rather than their behaviour, the legislation ignores the undeniable truth that temperament is shaped by training, environment, and responsible ownership... not by breed alone.
At BullyBillows, this outdated and unfair approach saddens us, because we see every day how loving, gentle, and well-balanced this breed can be when given the chance 🥺
The events around the 31st December were especially tragic, as frightened and misinformed owners felt pressured into making the unthinkable decision to euthanise their companions, and even offered £200 to do so. The idea that families were driven to end the lives of healthy, loyal dogs because of unclear guidance and fear-driven policies is profoundly saddening. These dogs were not dangerous; they were victims of a system that failed them.
As a business built on advocating for responsible ownership, welfare, and compassion, BullyBillows stands firmly against breed-specific legislation. We believe in education over fear, support over punishment, and fairness over prejudice. No family should ever be forced into such heartbreaking choices, and no dog should lose its life simply because of their appearance.

Today, we wear the purple poppy to remember the countless animals who stood beside humans in times of war - the brave and loyal souls who had no choice, yet gave everything. Horses that carried soldiers through battlefields, dogs that ran messages under fire, pigeons that flew through storms of bullets, and mules, donkeys, and elephants that hauled supplies through impossible terrain. Even cats, camels, and canaries - each one played their part, each one a silent hero 🦸🏽 💜
They didn’t understand our wars, yet they gave their lives with trust and courage. They knew only loyalty, companionship, and love. Their sacrifices remind us that the cost of conflict extends far beyond humanity 💪🏼
So, as we wear the purple poppy, we pause to honour not just the men and women who served, but every animal who suffered and served alongside them. Because remembrance should include all who gave everything for peace and freedom 💜
Lest we forget, the voiceless who had no choice, but gave their all ❤️🩹
It’ll be 1 year this summer after Floyd’s TPLO surgery, and he’s finally fully back to normal, running around like a big goof 🥹 I’ll never take these moments for granted anymore 🩶

Mum and daughter Peggy 💜 and Petra ❤️ went to cheer on our son Declan in his 10k run this morning 🏃⏱️💨
Petra takes these support trips very seriously, fully focused and taking in every detail.
Her mum Peggy, on the other hand, is just Peggy, smiling, giggling and happily bouncing her way through the day 😂🐾
Huge well done to Declan on a new PB.
The girls are looking very dapper in their matching red and purple harnesses from @bullybillows
There is a direct link to them on our website, link in bio.
They are always secure, comfy and stylish, and we never recommend anything unless we use it daily and it has passed the Wolfpack tried and tested test 💛

Meko in his @bullybillows attire 🖤✨
- I love this muzzle, the material is soft so doesn’t dig into his cheeks or rub his nose like previous muzzles, he has plenty of pant room and how stylish does he make it look.
Muzzled by law and not by choice 🖤
Meko wears a size 5 in his muzzle.
Size D in his harness and XL in his collar.
