The opening ceremony of my sculpture installation will be on June 26th at 5:30!
I’ve dedicated so much time and energy to this project and I’m excited to share it with all of you. It’s on display at Union Pond Park at 110 North School St. Manchester, CT. I’m going to plant and beautify the space between now and then, but in the meantime feel free to go check it out.
This has been such a long time coming and I want to thank everyone who believed in me and had a hand in helping bring this to fruition. It means the world to me.

this project has been such a long time coming and to watch it start coming together is honestly surreal.
the sculpture is a memorial project built in memory of my dad who passed away 15 years ago. it’s been a whirlwind and a waiting game and it’s finally actually happening.
it’s been a logistical nightmare to build the base because it’s too tall to build in the shop. i had to build temporary scaffolding to stage it in the back of a truck to get one side of the base done, then carefully remove it, strap it into a scissor lift, jack it up bolt it together and proceed to build the other side of the base. its been pretty overwhelming and daunting, but it feels good to see it all finally start seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.
it’s going to be installed at Union Pond park in Manchester, CT; my fathers hometown and mine as well. it’s gonna overlook the pond and be seen from across the whole park. we’re going to plant tall grasses around it and embed it into the nature there. My first large scale public art piece is getting installed at the end of this summer and it’s honestly a dream come true.
Thank you to all my students who have helped me work on this project and thank you to Joe and Tyler for putting up with my crazy ass this whole time.
can’t wait to finish it and get it installed in its finally resting place. love you dad

started this project a couple years ago — after empty promises of installation & funding that never came to fruition i bailed and left it outside for about a year. i decided that none of the above really matters and have finally been putting energy into completing this project.
the bird will eventually be on a base that will elevate it about 10’ off the ground, but for right now i’ve been muscling around on the stand/overhead crane set up.
never let the man bring u down. thanks for watching

i haven’t posted on this page nearly enough, but i’m gonna make an effort to make more content! i love teaching hands-on in the shop, but making content always felt like a lot of extra work and frankly feels cringey to me at times.
but i broke 3 bones in my foot and won’t be skateboarding anytime soon so i have some free time on my hands. i’m gonna work on tutorial videos & videos highlighting student progress in the shop.
this is my tenth year as a welding instructor & i’m officially the department head of the program now. so far, it’s been an awesome school year with a great group of eager students, and i look forward to sharing more of my day to day experiences with y’all. thanks for looking!
