For a long time I thought my days as an athlete were over. After chasing the dream through football and suffering three knee reconstructions, I was forced to close that chapter in my early 20’s. That moment fundamentally changed me. My identity was suddenly in question, and it exposed parts of myself I hadn’t faced before. For a while I coped with it through bad habits that numbed me from the things I actually needed to address. Eventually I had enough. And I found my way back to training. Not just for performance, but because of what training does to you as a person. The discipline. The resilience. The mindset you build when you keep showing up for yourself, even on the days you don’t feel like it. Now I compete in HYROX and coach others who want to challenge themselves and grow through training. Because training isn’t just about building a stronger body. It’s one of the most powerful tools we have to build a stronger mind and become a better version of ourselves. Through challenge and training I continue to learn more about myself, and that process keeps evolving who I am. This page is where I’ll share that journey. The highs, the setbacks, the lessons, and everything I learn along the way. If you’re someone chasing growth through training and personal challenge, you’re in the right place. #hyroxtraining #hybridathlete #trainforgrowth #mindsettraining

If I don’t occasionally take my mind to the depths of hell, then life will do it for me. 7 years ago today I underwent my 3rd knee reconstruction. I never returned to the footy field after that. Footy is what I lived for, for 6 years I felt lost with no purpose. I was steadily sitting in a state of depression. This year has been so fulfilling in many ways and completing an Ironman to add some cream to the cake was a sensational way to top it off. The 13 hours and 40 minutes completing this event came with many highs and lows, feelings of joy and feelings of complete frustration. Similar to life. I would talk to myself during it saying I’ll never do this again, just this one time, why would anyone do this twice? To within 12 hours, wanting more again, and something harder. It got really dark at the 30km mark of the marathon in the final leg. My mind got the better of me as I stopped to walk for a bit. I’ve thought to myself since…why on earth do you feel disappointed with that effort, how could you be? It’s taken me a few days to come to terms with it and realise the positive in that way of thinking. Why be completely satisfied? What’s a life worth living without a thirst for being greater/better? Better within, stronger in the mind, to have more understanding of myself and every different type of person around me. If you are unsatisfied, want more from yourself - Commit to the direction you want to take, do something hard, it doesn’t have to be an Ironman, just something relative to you and your abilities. Then occasionally check in when you need to remind yourself what you’re capable of. I said to @mattyferg21 when he asked how I’d processed it all a few days after, apart from a small portion of me being not completely satisfied, overall I could say I looked at myself different in the mirror. I think that’s a healthy place to be. My mission is to push my body and mind to its unknown limits in many different mediums, and inspire/help others to do the same. Step by step. Life will always have its ups and downs. So long as you are committed to growth and development, your stock will, over extended periods of time, be on the rise.

Competing with yourself is character building. If you aren’t competing with yourself and putting yourself in situations of controlled discomfort how are you expected to handle things when life decides to pile it on you? My journey of personal development, training, and pursuit of becoming a better, more rounded version of myself in my late 20’s started because I was sick of how I was showing up for myself when things got hard. I felt like life was beating the living hell out of me and I wanted to change that. I’ve built a durability that I thought was not possible for me when I was experiencing some of my biggest struggles. I know I will continue to show up and continue to pursue growth. And my intention is to help inspire and help others forge their own path and journey in this space. #hyrox #hyroxapac #hyroxbrisbane #hyroxworld

Managed to secure myself a last minute single pro ticket for Brisbane. I’ll admit I was a bit flat coming into this weekend without a singles race to test myself in. But I am physically prepared And I have 36 hours to mentally get my head in the right space. Race week is about nurturing your mind to a place where it can access the maximum amount of fitness available to you. This is where my best work happens The body can take you far, but the mind will take you further. Stress reduces energy availability. Be as relaxed as you can while remaining focused and aware of the job ahead. Succeed or “fail” you learn either way. #hyrox #hyroxworld #hyroxbrisbane

Habits that once served a purpose but are now holding you back from advancing in life. Easy to start, hard as fuck to quit. But when you finally make that change and replace the bad with the good, and break free ⛓️‍💥 Your life will improve dramatically, out of sight. You’ll feel better Look better Have more time More energy And apply more focus to the things that are actually going to improve your life Rather than keep spinning the wheels doing the same old shit you did when you were 20. These habits will creep in and out of your life but until you become aware of what’s really going on They will have complete control of you. ⛓️

Most people don’t have a discipline problem. They have a clarity problem. It wasn’t until my goals grew up and I got fkn real with myself that I actually started seeing real change. We set goals like: “I want to lose weight” “I want to stop eating shit food” “I want to stop vaping” But we’re afraid to go deeper than that. And when things get hard… we’re out until the next time we feel “motivated” The goal isn’t strong enough to hold us in the space we need to start seeing real change. This is where the “7 why’s” come in. You take your goal… and ask why. Then take that answer… and ask why again. And repeat that process 🔁 Eventually, you get to the real reason underneath it all. Because surface level goals are usually extrinsic (external) Lose weight. Look better. Perform better. That’s not what drives real change. What actually creates lasting progress is intrinsic (internal) How you want to feel. Who you want to become. How you see yourself. That’s what holds us when the motivation disappears and it hurts to keep going

Low key still catch myself doing this from time to time. It’s fkn cliche but you have to learn to love the process. It’s perfectly fine to put pressure on yourself and to be disappointed if something doesn’t go to plan. But if it completely defines how you feel about yourself… It’s not healthy and you’re missing an opportunity to learn and grow. It affects how you show up the next time. The outcome is just feedback to take back into the process. #fitness #mindset #personalgrowth #processoveroutcome
