Thank you for all the love on our last post! Since there are some new people on our page, we wanted to reintroduce ourselves. We are Building Integrity LLC, a Prefabricated Strawbale Panel company based out of Missouri and servicing the entire Mid-West! Building Integrity is owned and operated by five members with diverse backgrounds in design, natural building, construction, wellness, and agriculture. Motivated to create efficient and healthy structures that can be implemented at-scale to address the climate and housing crisis, we founded our LLC in 2024 and began participating in New Frameworks’ Seed Collaborative. Whether you are a homeowner, architect, general contractor, or developer, reach out: we want to collaborate with you! Click the link in our bio to fill out a contact form and we will reach out! #StrawbaleConstruction #SeedCollaborative #NaturalBuilding #StrawPanelRevolution #RegenerativeDesign #ClimateAction #LocalMaterials #CraftedWithCare #BuildTheFuture #SustainableHomes #StrawBaleBuilding #Sustainability

The newest edition of the Last Straw Journal is out now! This edition is about Fire and covers a range of topics and stories regarding bio-based materials and a warming climate. Our project in Nebraska is featured on page 23, discussing how our panels were specifically chosen for a client who prioritized fire resiliency in an increasingly high risk area for grass fires. Building Integrity co-founder Virgil was proud to co-present at NESEA’s Building Energy Boston conference last month alongside Ace @acegonzmc from New Frameworks and Greg from Rare Forms! We spoke about scaling resilient, socially responsible, and climate-restorative construction practices through cooperation and mutual aid rather than competition. We highlighted our emergent Seed Collaborative as a vehicle through which we are modeling this: A Straw Panel Producer’s Cooperative dedicated to sharing services, improvements, and consulting amongst one another, and lifting each other up as vetted straw panel producers! We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this, and are steadfast in our commitment to making healthy, high-performing and carbon-storing walls an option for your next project!

The panel design involves two “wythes” of framing. The exterior wythe bears the roof load. Because this project is 1-½ stories, the beams holding up the second floor connect to built-up columns on the interior wythe. These wythes are connected only at girts, which minimizes thermal bridging.
