Took a little ride to the site yesterday to scope out the infield on the ole Surly Pugoll (Pugsley + Troll fork + 700c wheels). This is going to be a beautiful space with lots of room to roam. We really need vendor commitment in the coming weeks. Tell your frame builders and makers to get signed up now! Link in bio for tickets. DM me questions.

Before we get rolling with the next iteration of the Builders’ Ball, it’s important to take a minute and appreciate Eric and all the work he’s done to give an outlet to New England creators. As an attendee at the seaport Ball, I got a strong sense that a great deal of care had gone into the space and event and that type of commitment should be revered and celebrated. I’ve also listened to Eric’s interview with Joe Roggenbuck @cobraframebuilding on the Shut Up and Build Bikes podcast, which I highly recommend if you want to know more about how he’s built up the Ball over eight installments. Eric’s passion for the event and community really come through. He’s leaving quite the legacy to live up to and I speak for all of us when I say, Thanks for all you’ve done Eric! Follow Eric’s new IG @eric.is.cogent to keep up with him and post some love in the comments.

Got a whole bunch of #british #bicycle #pinbackbuttons and #lapelpins up on eBay right now with 99 cent starting bids. These will look great on your handlebar bag, suit jacket, or even as a Prince Albert. Link in bio! Free local pickup or combined shipping available of course. @waxwingbagco @dillpicklegear @dhpflaumer you’ll like some of these I think.

Circa 1950 German bike built for export. Great lugwork and the paint has held up really well. Has anyone else seen this brand (Cerimo) before? Wood rims and flip-flop hub are unexpected but parts may have been hard to find at the time as they were rebuilding after the war. @stilllifecc referred to the saddle as having “Frankenstein stitches” and he wasn’t wrong. Thanks to @velo_orange for the replacement chainring (original duralumin part cracked in half) and to @chapmancycles for helping me get it back on the road where I look dignified AF. *** Handbuilt bike show for sale! DM for details.

I recently finished a bottle of the elusive (in the US, at least) Elixir d’Anvers @elixirdanvers . Not just my favorite liqueur, but also closely aligned with competitive cycling! First created in 1864, the son of the founder was Emile de Beukelaer (1867-1922), who was a 3-time track champ of #belgium (1885, 1886, 1888) and won several other road and track races during those years as well. He later became the first President of the UCI, in 1900. There’s no evidence that he gave a shit about #sockheight or the #supertuck . 🙄 *** T-shirts still for sale! Link in bio. *** Builders’ Ball still for sale! DM for deets.

Remembering this gorgeous @antbikemike cargo bike seen at a party at @cleverhood world hq in #providence some years ago, and posting it as an excuse to remind everyone that your favorite New England-based #handbuilt #bike show is still for sale! Two potential sales both seem to have fallen through so I’m still hoping someone will take the reins and keep the show rolling forward. #motivatedseller DM me for details!

Hey beautiful humans! Just because the Ball is dead doesn’t mean I don’t still have a shit-ton of merch clogging up my pipes. Help a guy carve a sliver off of his show-related debt? Three varieties of the t-shirt all in 100% cotton, and pint glasses (link to web store in profile). If you’re local to me and can pick up at my Providence office I’ll drop prices for you ( the glass costs about ten bucks to ship). I also have dozens of 5-gal buckets w lids and about 40 burlap (jute, non-dyed) tablecloths each 5’ x 10.5’. Also, the show itself is still available if anyone wants to revive it…
