"One is None" is a popular expression in filmmaking. Doubly so when you're smashing things! We made a bunch of these mashable Wife dolls for Prop Master Charles McGlynn on The Testaments. We had a fun time working out how to replicate the texture of porcelain, but making it even more fragile! Very counterintuitive to how we usually work, trying to make sure things don't break haha #thetestaments #dolls #smash #props

A Smash Cut of the Testaments Doll Smash! It's the first headsmash test we did of the Wife Doll's head, combined with the final shot in the show! We made this for Prop Master Charles McGlynn and we're so pleased with how it turned out. #smash #dolls #thetestaments #props

More Testaments Doll photos! We did a whole line of props for the dolls as well, to allow for them to be posed in a variety of positions and actions that the script might call for. We hid magnets in all their hands and then in the tiny props so that they could cleanly handle them. Magnets, they're basically magic. #thetestaments #dolls #props #propmaking

The Testaments Dolls! We built these dolls for Prop Master Charles McGlynn to achieve the look. Working in miniature is always an interesting journey of dialing in exactly what needs to stay for the look to remain true, while losing anything that clutters the visual. Not to mention all the things they needed to do in terms of poses for the shots! We coordinated with Costume Designer Leslie Kavanagh to make sure the outfits of the dolls were a proper representation of her designs for the costumes as well. The Costume Department actually provided us with their custom fabrics for the looks, just to make sure we had exactly the right shade and texture. We're really proud of the final product, and how great they look on camera! #thetestaments #dolls #props #propmaking

And another Titans piece, this time for costumes. We built these Amazonian Breastplates for Costume Designer Joyce Shure. The story involved Raven going to Themyscira, home of the Amazons, and it was such a treat to get to contribute to that look! We made them in both silver and gold, and they were designed to be adjustable to allow for the variety of people wearing them throughout the episode. Also special shout out to @tilley808 who sculpted the brooch they wear on top of these! She was part of the Costume Department, but came to play with us to make sure that these two elements interacted perfectly. #costume #breastplate #amazon #titans

Freedom Beast. Keeping on our superhero theme, this helmet was such an honour to build for Prop Master Emily Hyde. It was the first time Freedom Beast was seen in live action (played by the very talented @nyambi ) and it was so much fun putting this together. Modelled by Patrick Kroetsch, we then printed, molded and cast the pieces, before covering them in their needed finishes and leathers and assembling. The lenses were all custom dyed by us, and had a variety of swappable darknesses to allow for stunt safety in a variety of lighting levels. It paired so nicely with the costume, which was designed by Costume Designer Nola Chaters. #freedom #beast #titans #helmet #props

Another The Boys throwback, these were the holsters we developed for Prop Master Davin Snip for the character Blue Hawk in season 3! The second slide shows the process of making the stunt safe holster. As you may remember, Blue Hawk gets shredded by A-Train by being dragged at superspeed, and so they needed a holster that he could lay on while he met his end. I wish we had gotten better pictures of it, as neither show the final paint on them, but really it shows the growth of us as a shop haha. #theboys #stunt #safe #props #propmakers

In honour of The Boys Season 5 coming out, let's talk about one of the funnier builds we did for The Boys. This is the Flounder Pounder from Season 3 of the Boys, which we made for Prop Master Davin Snip. Back in Season 3, there was this scene where Kimiko clears a room of bad guys using a display case full of adult toys. I'm pretty sure that Davin sent every shop in the city one of the toys to build, and we got this one, which is themed after the Deep. You don't necessarily realize it on the show, but we actually made a bunch of them, as some are stunt safe and some are more rigid display, etc etc. Congratulations to the Boys on their fifth season premiere, and we hope the show goes out with a bang! (I'm so curious to see if this gets taken down haha) #theboys #propmakers #props #thedeep

There will never be a day where we're not in love with the vibes of these masks. We're still so proud of developing these masks with Costume Designer Charlene Akuamoah, they're such a striking design, and are immediately iconic and unique while being recognizable and relatable. Robyn Hood will always have a special place in our hearts. And sorry to @kseniadaniela for not having a dramatic photo of hers like the others haha. #masks #costume #robynhood #fox

The central plate in Nandor's Armour in season 6 of What We Do in the Shadows. This was such a key piece of this look, thing into proper historical armour of the era and region, we wanted to make sure it was exactly what the costume department was envisioning. They provided us with the art for this plate, including fun Easter eggs for Farsi speakers, and we tooled it into this leather plate before painting it to the metallic finish you see here. #whatwedointheshadows #armour #nandor #leather

And speaking of Gods, let's talk about Tyr, the God of War. We made this Godly Armour for him, played on American Gods by Denis O'Hare, for Costume Designer Robert Blackman. The contrast between Tyr and Odin's armour was really fun, from the style of Tyr's Plate compared to the Scale mail that Odin wears, to the colour tones and textures. Robert's designs were a discussion in opposing forces that so beautifully reflected the conflict between these two characters. Made predominantly out of molded leather, with a few pieces of shaped plastic, along with hand sculpted helmet, belt buckle, and crest, Tyr's armour was as intensive as Odin's, but in a very different way. Robert really wanted a hammered metal look, that dimpling you find on such pieces, and each potmark was laid in by hand by our build team, on every single piece of his armour, Hero and Stunt, while on the 13 day timeline, and building Odin as well. But much like Odin, we certainly feel the results speak for themselves. #tyr #godofwar #americangods #armour #costume
