P U P D A T E :
We took @bugsythefartingfrenchie to his first follow up visit since his surgery and the surgeon said he is doing very well! He expects a full recovery 🙌🏻
Staples came out today and his incision healed up great! At this point we are allowed to start taking him on progressively longer walks but still need to keep him calm at home. He still has another 4-6 weeks of recovery until everything is considered healed and stable so we’re not entirely in the clear yet. But things are looking very positive!

Hayden and I are in awe of the love and support everyone has shown us through this difficult time. At first we were very reluctant on starting a Go Fund Me for Bugsy. We thought people wouldn’t understand, agree with our decision, or simply judge us. And
BOY WERE WE WRONG! So many of you have shown us so much love and support! We get emotional realizing how many people actually care. Our family and friends for one always have our backs no matter the circumstance and we will always be grateful, there is no other love like it ♥️ and then there’s the love we have received from the different communities of social media that Hayden has created through Instagram. It amazes me that some people we have never met or only met a few times genuinely care and just want to help. It is so awesome to witness the good in peoples hearts and we just want everyone to know how extremely appreciative we are ♥️
As of yesterday Bugsy had his surgery. The doctor was successfully able to do his part and this morning he is up and (although wobbley) walking this morning! The doctor is so confident in his recovery that he thinks we could bring him home tomorrow! Although we have a long road of recovery ahead, your love and support has lessened the stress and turmoil. We are ready to get our baby boy home and prepared for the challenges ahead!
P R A Y F O R B U G S Y
On Tuesday our baby boy hurt his neck. The local vet thought it was just a muscle strain, but the next day his symptoms started to worsen. By the end of the night he couldn’t walk straight and was starting to trip over his front paws. By Thursday morning he could no longer hold himself up and his front legs went completely stiff…
We rushed him to an Emergency Vet yesterday morning where he had an evaluation by a neurologist who ordered and MRI that showed a ruptured disk in his neck that is compressing on his spinal cord. The treatment options are surgery, conservative treatment (likely very poor outcome given that within time he could become permanently paralyzed), or putting him down (absolutely not an option for us)…
With all that being said, @bugsythefartingfrenchie is undergoing spinal surgery today to alleviate the compression on his spinal cord. The Surgeon is very confident that Bugsy will have a great outcome and be able to live out the rest of his life (mostly) his normal, loving, goofy self.
We made a huge mistake and didn’t have pet insurance prior to this so everyyyything is coming out of pocket - and the total cost is outrageous y’all! We aren’t ones to ask for money, and yes we can still make ends meet, but if you feel like helping our little guy out or you know of any organizations that might like to help with some of the crazy upcoming expenses please let us know!
More importantly, please take a minute and say a prayer for our little guy. To you he may be “just a dog” but to us, he’s everything 🤍
