Today’s post is a throwback to an indie arthouse drama that is very dear to me. I shot it in 2019 with a cast and crew made up mostly of friends. The film explores the younger generation of women and their struggle for autonomy.
The film follows Mia, who, after a violent breakup, becomes consumed by the desire to take revenge on her ex. As her plan begins to unfold she finds herself surrounded by a group of friends who redefine what female solidarity can look like.
Mia keeps a video diary during this time which meant I had to step into her perspective and shoot much of the film from her point of view. It became a fascinating way to create a direct, almost intimate relationship between the camera and the actors.

And this project was one of those. Because it felt significant and unexpectedly emotional. Because my wish was finally granted & I got to work with the talllented @bugarin___ (who I’ve known for 15 yrs, so a 15 yr old wish). Because I reunited with @biroborokaa , who I admire so much. Because I was genuinely touched when @roxevergreen asked me to be part of this (still am, still grateful). Because I hadn’t crossed paths with @loredanabadilamua angel MUA hands in a long time, and I’m so glad this was the one we came back for.
