Introducing Common Ground — a project that complements and reimagines Ptakha Camp (ReStart), a tent-based community offering mental health rehabilitation for families displaced by war.
In September 2024, we won the Rebuild Green Hackathon — an international urban development program under the New European Bauhaus initiative.
Our task was to design an innovative, sustainable, and eco-friendly architectural solution.
Now it’s time to bring it to life.
Grounded in community collaboration, the project continues this summer with a series of events and workshops in Severynivka, Vinnytsia region.
For us, joining such initiatives is not an exception — it’s a necessity.

Презентуємо Common Ground — проєкт, що доповнює та переосмислює Ptakha camp (ReStart), наметове містечко, що працює як простір реабілітації ментального здоров’я для сімей, що вимушено переміщені внаслідок війни.
У вересні 2024 ми стали переможцями Rebuild Green Hackathon — міжнародної програми у межах ініціативи New European Bauhaus.
Наше завданням було створити інноваційне, сталe та екологічне архітектурне рішення.
Наш наступний крок — реалізація.
Проєкт базується на взаємодії з громадою, тому вже цього літа ми проведемо серію заходів і воркшопів у Северинівці, що на Вінниччині.
Участь у таких ініціативах — не виняток, а необхідність.
У контексті війни та відновлення саме такі проєкти формують нову культуру простору.

En embarquant sous ces couleurs de solidarité, nous affirmons :
- qu’un projet peut être à la fois ancré localement et ouvert sur le monde,
- que les besoins concrets d’une communauté peuvent rayonner bien au-delà frontières,
- qu’à chaque mille marin parcouru, ce projet se fait levier de diffusion et d’inclusion,
- que construire un monde plus juste passe aussi par des gestes simples : naviguer et faire ensemble, défendre des causes, créer des ponts entre différents mondes,
Et que chaque traversée, qu’elle soit humaine, sociale ou maritime, commence par une ferme intention de vivre ensemble.
L’océan est un espace de transition, de
passage, de transformation. Elle relie les territoires, tout comme les projets solidaires relie les humains à leur environnement. Budmo et la course Cap Martinique partagent les mêmes valeurs ; de résilience, d’engagement collectif, de dépassement de soi, de transmission et de solidarité.
Encore hier 16/04, un nouvel acte de terreur par les attaques russes en Ukraine, en moins de 24h : 44 missiles et 660 drônes ! Continuons de nous mobiliser et de porter les couleurs de la paix et la solidarité.

Під час 3-тижневого інтенсивного навчання від Let’s NGO учасники не просто отримали базові знання для розвитку організацій — вони занурились у роботу над власними проєктами разом із менторами, щоб знайти відповіді на соціальні проблеми, які справді їх турбують.
Фінальний крок — пітчинг, де 10 команд презентували свої напрацювання та бачення змін.
За результатами оцінювання журі, 3 команди отримали рекомендацію до фінансування:

We’re back with a photo recap from Paris!
From February 25 to 27, the Grand Palais hosted the @forumboisconstruction , attracting over 18,000 visitors over three days. During this remarkable event, our Franco-Ukrainian team from BUDMO, in collaboration with Metalab and Archilife, showcased our latest projects and initiatives. Our participation was labeled “Le Voyage en Ukraine,» a program supported by the Institut Français and the Ukrainian Institute
These three days were filled with wonderful conversations, new friendships, and opportunities to form partnerships. We really wanted to go beyond just presenting our work and share a taste of the Ukrainian spirit with everyone. Our guests enjoyed traditional salo appetizers, and @ana.marchenko from the BUDMO team set the atmosphere with an evocative DJ set.
The timing of the forum was poignant, as it began just a day after the anniversary of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. We felt it was important to come together with our international friends and take a moment of silence to honor the bravery of the Ukrainian defenders.
We’re happy to announce that the BUDMO team will once again participate in the @forumboisconstruction , taking place on February 25–27!

🏆 Hackathon Spotlight: Team Budmo
At the Rebuild Green Hackathon 2024, innovative teams from across Ukraine competed to design sustainable solutions for real urban challenges. Among them, @budmo.team stood out with their project “Common Ground”, a holistic center for families affected by the war in Severynivska Hromada, Vinnytsia Region.
“Common Ground” combines eco-friendly building materials, flexible modular spaces, and energy-efficient systems to create a safe, nurturing, and adaptable community hub. Biophilic gardens, therapy rooms, and cultural spaces make it a place for healing, learning, and connection.
This project demonstrates how hackathons can spark tangible change, turning creative ideas into real-world solutions for Ukraine’s sustainable recovery. 🌱

• Témoignages d’Ukraine
Le travail de portraits et d’interviews a été mené tout au long du projet construit avec les réfugiés cet été. Nous avons été imprégné du contexte de guerre dans lequel l’Ukraine est plongé depuis bientôt 4ans.
Ces visages sont le reflet de la résistance silencieuse qui remercie tous les jours l’armée ukrainienne d’être encore en vie. Nous exprimons notre solidarité envers les Ukrainiens et Ukrainiennes qui, dans des conditions très éprouvantes, continuent d’exercer leur activité. Malgré le froid, le manque d’électricité et de chauffage, ils font preuve d’une remarquable détermination et d’un grand courage face aux décès quotidiens.

• Ptahahata - птахахата
- Take refuge in bio-based materials
In 2025, the Ptaha camp, nestled on the southern slope of a valley in the heart of Ukraine, welcomed 1,267 Ukrainian refugees fleeing the front lines. Among them, many mothers and their children sought a place to find peace and security after the trauma of exile. This valley became a space of transition for them, where the need for protection met the hope of gradual healing.
At the heart of this landscape, the Riv River flows through the site, shaping its contours. Fifty-six species of birds flock to its banks, making this area a remarkable ornithological reserve. This abundant biodiversity plays a vital role in the refugees’ psychological recovery: contact with nature, listening to the birds, and contemplating a preserved environment offer a profound and natural sense of peace.
It is precisely between these two dimensions—the precarious human presence and the ecological richness of the site—that the project is situated. It nestles at the foot of the hill, by the river, to offer a welcoming space for rest. A place to take the time to pause and contemplate a calm landscape, gently accompanying the return to a serene future.

En 2025, le camp Ptaha, installé sur le flanc sud d’un vallon au coeur de l’Ukraine, a accueilli 1 267 réfugiés ukrainiens fuyant la ligne de front. Parmi eux, de nombreuses mères et leurs enfants cherchent un lieu où retrouver calme et sécurité après le traumatisme de l’exil. Ce vallon devient pour eux un espace de transition, où la nécessité de protection rencontre l’espoir d’un apaisement progressif.
Au cœur de ce paysage, la rivière du Riv traverse le site et anime son relief. Autour de son lit s’ébrouent 56 espèces d’oiseaux, faisant de ce territoire une réserve ornithologique remarquable. Cette biodiversité foisonnante joue un rôle essentiel dans la reconstruction psychologique des réfugiés : le contact avec le vivant, l’écoute des oiseaux et la contemplation d’un environnement préservé offrent un apaisement naturel et profond.
C’est précisément entre ces deux dimensions ; la présence humaine fragilisée et la richesse écologique du lieu, que le projet s’inscrit. Il s’immisce au pied de la colline, en bord de rivière, pour offrir un espace d’accueil et de repos. Un lieu où prendre le temps de se poser et de contempler un paysage calme, qui accompagne doucement le retour à un futur serein.
