Paramananda has led retreats for over 35 years. He teaches a soulful approach to meditation, infused with poetry and myth, and at the same time emphasising connection to the body, land, place and each other. This two-week intensive meditation retreat will draw on the attitude of beginner’s mind to invite an opening to a different way of being in the world. Living and meditating together in silence we will explore how our psyche is grounded in relationships to place, opening the way for re-enchantment of our world. This retreat is aimed at sincere meditators who practice regularly. It is ideal for those with substantial meditation experience within the Triratna Buddhist community, e.g. three or more years. At the same time, we can facilitate those who are newer to meditation or new to Triratna, to participate. We can support you to take part if you have: at least a year’s experience with the core Triratna meditation practices, or substantial meditation experience in another tradition If either of these applies, please tell us on the booking form. If you are uncertain if this is the right retreat for you, please do get in touch using our contact form on the website - /contact/ The retreat will largely be held in silence, but at the same time involves a significant aspect of living in community through working, living and practising together. The daily timetable will be something like this: 6am- Rise 6.30–8am- Meditation 8.15am- Breakfast 9–10.30am- Morning circle and work period 11am–1pm Teaching and practice session 1pm- Lunch 3pm- Bodywork practice with Siwan 4.30–6pm- Practice session 6pm- Dinner 8-9pm- Evening ritual To find out more and book at place please click the link in the bio or go to /events/15/total-immersion-2026/

Here's the official festival poster for this year folks! The watercolour image is part of a beautiful painting by Mumukshu, a previous core member of Buddhafield. This is the buddha Locana, the buddha of mirror-like wisdom. The theme for this year's festival is "Waves of Stillness", and here is Locana, sat still in meditation with long waves of blue hair which represent the ongoing effects of seeing things as they really are - her wisdom fanning out in all directions. So we are bringing this paradox to the festival this year - Waves of Stillness. Please do share this into your networks, we're still surprised that after 30 years people are still discovering us for the first time! Let's keep spreading the word so more people can benefit from what's on offer. If you want to make the most of the chance to pay for your festival tickets in installments this is still available. Head over to /buddhafield-festival-2026/ to find out more or click the link in the bio If you'd like to purchase a print of this painting you can go to /product/locana/ or click the link in the bio Photo credits: Keaton Brignall McDougall @k_b_mcd and @james_ratchford_photography #buddhafield #buddhafieldfestival #buddhism #dharma #meditation #yoga #livemusic #childfriendly #sober #ecstaticdance #contactimprovisation #consciouscommunity #yoga #sauna #solarpowered #offgrid #worldmusic #folkmusic #spokenword

This is a unique event in the Buddhafield calendar. Over the two weeks of this retreat, we will form a spiritual community to work together while immersing ourselves in practicing the dharma. Together we will prepare the Frogmill site for Buddhafield’s open retreat, take part in this retreat, and then work to take down and pack away the structures and return the land to its human-free state. As we do this, we will be looking at the Buddhist path through the lens and poetry of alchemy with a view of comparing traditional Buddhist teachings with pagan traditions that have grown around us for thousands of years. The Hermetic art of alchemy speaks of transformation, of lead into gold, the base into the radiant. Of course, this was never only the work of heating and transmuting chemicals, but also a mirror of the inner path — the transformation of the three poisons of greed, hatred and delusion into compassion, wisdom and liberated energy; the awakening of the heart’s release. In the middle of this two-week retreat we will have a four-day focus on the Celtic calendar as we join with retreatants on The Wheel of the Year retreat. In this way, we will rediscover the profound and simple teachings of the dharma, reflecting on how all phenomenon are empty by nature. The structures we dismantle, the community we form, the rituals we share — all are transient, without fixed essence. Yet, there in, lies the magic and meaning of the ordinary and profound dharma life. Expect Dharma talks, meditation, ritual and fireside chats; all centred around the dismantling of Buddhafield structures, moving the kit off-site and developing insight into the true nature of our experience. At the turning of the summer season, Green Earth Awakening brings together those seeking a balance of inner transformation and outer action. In a time of ecological breakdown, we offer a space to explore spiritual growth, learn practical skills, and cultivate resilience—personally, socially, and ecologically. For those on a path of spiritual development, it’s easy to overlook the urgency of social and ecological injustice. For activists, the focus on action can overshadow the need for inner reflection and renewal. Green Earth Awakening is an invitation to all—a place to gather, connect, and cross-pollinate ideas. Through meditation, yoga, workshops, panel talks and land-based skills—from green crafts to ecology-based practices—we aim to create a safe, vibrant community where you can nourish yourself, ask difficult questions, and forge new ways of being in the world. In the face of climate breakdown, inequality, and the painful legacy of colonialism, we believe in the power of compassion, connection, and collective transformation. Inspired by the lens of Buddhism, we embrace a worldview that shifts us from individualism, scarcity, and separation toward connection, abundance, and solidarity. Join us as we rediscover practices that heal our sense of separation, reconnect us to the web of life, and empower us to co-create a future rooted in courage, creativity, and compassion. to find out more and buy tickets click the link in the bio or go to /green-earth-awakening-2026/ #offgrid #activism #climatechange #ecology #engagedbuddhism #regenerativeactivism

Ther Power team provides an off-grid solar power supply to Buddhafield spaces for sound, lighting and other purposes around the site both during the festival and for set up and tat down. Before the festival, they provide power to charge radios and other uses, and set up street lighting at strategic points around the site. During the festival, they maintain the lighting, manage energy consumption of sound and lighting for stages that they are responsible for (especially important during times of poor weather), troubleshoot traders’ electrical issues and Buddhafield equipment, and, where possible, help attendees with electrical issues arising. They also check the safety and compliance of all Buddhafield installations, traders and other electrical setups. They are a small team, and are looking for a few more people to join the core team, ideally with off-grid electrical experience to join. However, the main skill needed is a willingness to learn and pitch in. The site is quite large, and as the team have to go all overapp licants able to bring a bicycle to get around are preferred. You may have already seen the previous two reels our work-experience student has made? here's the 3rd! Buddhafield is a multigenerational community, we have young adults on our teams who have grown up coming to Buddhafield events. We also have grandparents who've been around Buddhafield since it first started in the early 90's. Our first festival was in 1996 but Buddhafield had already started our ongoing relationship with Glastonbury Festival before that. In this reel one of our teens, whose parents have been involved for a long time, speaks about her experience.
