In Malaysia, a mix of cultures is something we see often. Sim Yee and Danial began their journey back in 2018, stepping into a relationship that embraced differences, understanding and growth. Through years of togetherness, they navigated life’s highs and lows, even enduring the MCO lockdown where love was sustained through online video call dating. Every moment led them closer to what felt right, and in 2025, they chose to begin a whole new chapter together.

@bucoliccatering to create a fully customised full-course menu, one that reflected both fusion elements and Chinese influences, thoughtfully designed to honour the diverse palates, cultures and traditions of their families and friends. Every dish was curated with intention, balancing familiarity with creativity.
The experience began with a comforting Mozza Tangerine Butternut Soup, where roasted butternut was gently cooked in vegetable broth, finished with a bright sizzle of tangerine juice and topped with mozzarella - warm, vibrant and inviting.
For the entrée, guests enjoyed an Apple Shrimp Salad, featuring handpicked greens, delicately poached shrimp, orange segments, dried olives, tomatoes, kyuri, all brought together with a refreshing apple dressing.
The main course showcased two thoughtfully crafted options. A comforting, flavour-forward delight, the Spinach Mozza Roulade, served with spinach basil cream and ratatouille, offered richness and depth. Alongside it, the Pan-Charred Halibut, lightly marinated in fragrant soy, perfectly seared, and served on French beans and shimeji mushrooms, finished with a saffron dill sauce - elegant and refined.
To end on a refreshing note, desserts were kept light and uplifting, Mango Passionfruit Sorbet and Coconut Sorbet, cleansing the palate and closing the evening with tropical harmony.
