Pulling Earth From The Aether
There’s a reason why I, and many others, offer meditation as the first and most important action one may take toward healing themselves and toward maintaining a beautiful, true, and loving life. Meditation is your most dependable ally in a world of suffering. So long as you are in a relationship with your body, you have the ability to meditate. Yes there will be times when conditions are suboptimal, yet it is always there for you regardless of the external world. It affords so many gifts to the practitioner, one of which is the cultivation of pulling Earth from the Aether.
As we practice meditation we become aware of the aether of the mind, the land of thoughts. Zipping to and fro, we see thoughts come and go. This is the solar element of the mind, where light in the form of thoughts come and ask for our emotional energy, our attention. The seat of the observer of these thoughts is the lunar element of the mind, where we decide where to dispense our emotional energy… which thoughts we give permission to be born. When we entangle emotional energy with a suggested thought, it then goes through the birthing process where it becomes a reality. This is the process of pulling Earth from the Aether. When our thought is manifest it becomes the Earthen element.
What meditation allows for is a cultivation of this process and a refining of the seat of the observer, the lunar element. Through meditation we become more aware of the thoughts that are presenting themselves to us, we gain greater control over what we decide to entertain with our emotional energy, we become more discerning in what thoughts we let pass by. The Jewels of Tranquility
Motion erodes. Acting as the destroyer, it clears the path for the creator. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, found both in the crashing of the waves and the stillness of the pond. It is not that the destruction wrought by chaos is any worse than the order of the silent, they both contain beauty in their own ways. The unadulterated plain is a miraculous dream, yet so is the river that carves a canyon out of the flatland.
Peace and stillness are required for love to grow. Like the crystals in a cave, it must be undisturbed. The longer one can hold this meditative state, the more beauty grows from the expansion of perfected love. The crystallization of love is the product of peace.
There is a great secret that provides stability to those that know it. It is the secret of necessity of which love is the foundation. The secret is that existence itself must be built on a foundation of love, or else it would not exist. Any realm founded upon chaos, disorder, hatred, evil... these realms may exist but only for a short time. They are self defeating, their greatest enemy being themselves. Destruction may only clear the way, never can it build. Even the most precious and subtle substance of life may reside in the peace of knowing that if it is destroyed, it is because the place it has found itself is not worthy of its existence.
A later day will come when a realm that upholds the jewels of tranquility find their foundation. Flourishing upon the bedrock of love, they beckon in the most subtle, the most precious, the most beautiful. Nature does not hold any concept of anxiety, of stress, of sadness, of anger, of worry... it knows that if the conditions have become suitable, love will flourish.
Man attaches to this and that, living in a constant state of fear for what may be lost. Nature creates without expectation, knowing that all is perfect, that all will be achieved, that love will take root and grow into the multifaceted jewel bearing tree.
