These were taken in MN and my last session with @classic_cherry … I’m still at a lost for words but I so wish she could’ve seen these before she passed. Maybe I’ll come up with the words in the next post idk…

With a very heavy heart I’m truly sadden by the news that @aiyshasinclair of @brownsugarfairies passed away in October of last year. I met her a few years ago in California. She was one of the most optimistic and inspirational person I’ve met. At the time, she was going thru her cancer treatments and wanted to do something for herself so she booked a shoot with me. I recall this day vividly and it lives rent free in my head, she was so free with the wind and waves and it was such a pleasure to have captured the moments. Aiysha herself was a storyteller and the words she weave were filled with magic. I know she’s touched many hearts and I just thought I should share the news as late as it may be, she deserves to be celebrated always.

I was recently reminded why I am a big ol' free thinking person... Someone was remarking on how they were shocked and (I regret to say) disappointed with the choices I made as an adult. This person re-emerged from long ago (when I was an innocent child) and in their mind, I stayed that way forever. They ran into me at an adult-industry party in LA, and could not wrap their head around the fact that I was there.
This convo sparked some long standing resentments I have towards people who feel women are most valuable for innocence, virginity, and purity. This has been a common thread in my life, as I was the kind of rebel who felt acting out with sexuality was a form of empowerment. Many people think if a woman is sex/y/ual they are doing it to please men. I don't feel this way. You COULD be doing it to please men, or you COULD be doing it because you feel no shame identifying as a sexy, slutty, sultry, debaucherous, misbehaving being. Nothing pisses off (these kinds of) men more, than a woman who embodies all her sexy sensual powers. All sex workers or people who have had experiences in the adult industry will tell you this... "men" will find them unappealing despite their eagerness to exploit such delicious and tempting female qualities.
I have never thought of myself as a feminist, but people say I am. Every human should do whatever they want, excluding being predatory/ harmful towards others. To me being a feminist means making decisions in life without regards to the opinion of men, and without the weight of "societal" expectation. If I WANT to dress sexy, I do, not because men like it, but because I enjoy it. I don't avoid being sexy to avoid unwanted attention. Someone's attention is not my goal, so I refuse to cater to the reactions of strangers. I won't hide my sexuality because of how it is perceived by people less expressive or free thinking. I don't make decisions worrying about how they will be perceived by men. Not in my career, my personal life, my art... I just live the way I want, and if other people are on the same rollercoaster then we ride together.

Basically... the leaves were so beautiful we had to adorn ourselves in the rainbow and dance about in the fall colors. Luckily my little brother @alexander_r_underwood was up for the adventure! Since this lovely occasion coincided with Dia de Los Muertos we were fortunate enough to go to a celebration here in Berlin where there was delicious Mexican food, La Catrinas, (German) Mexican wrestlers, and beautiful altars. We snapped these pix with the phone camera on the way, as sadly my "real camera" would not fire (whyyyyyy?!??!?!), so the colors are sometimes a bit funky as the phone was a bit confused. However, the moment was captured.... as I always tell my brother, he doesn't realize all these once in a lifetime moments are happening where we both live in Berlin, across the planet earth from our birth place. This moment wont last forever, and it was a special day ;)
