Bubbles 1st AKC Trial! Iām so proud of her! She was very focused and her energy was great! One of the perks of paying your dues at the novice level(you basically go last) is getting to take pictures with the judge who was so nice and welcomed us to AKC. Even though she had a flight to catch, she took the time to take some pictures and complimented Bubbles on her start line focus. Go Bubblesā¼ļø š ā¤ļø
We had a great week at practice and now itās time to try an AKC (American Kennel Club) Agility trial. We will doing our 2nd trial and I expect it be challenging. My favorite quote right now is āYou donāt have to be great to start. You have to start to be great.ā I feel we have improved so much since our first trial last month so now itās time to go take the test. My goal will always be to have fun and get data. I am really proud of how far weāve improved in a short time and it has not even been three months we have been taking classes. I am very thankful for everyone I have met that has been so supportive and positive and reminding me at the end of the day, itās just a fun way to spend time with your dog. #TeamBubbles ā¤ļøš¶
So much fun on yesterdayās adventure taking (6) dogs paddle boarding. Initially I didnāt think it was possible. Thank you for the encouragement @sup_pups ā¤ļøā¤ļø You really made this happen! My only concern was that I didnāt want my (3) seniors to fall in the water-I knew they would be okay if they did but they donāt need that stress in their life. Of course, Sam had a plan and we pulled it off. Bubbles did her thing constantly maneuvering her way up and down the board and every went for a swim. I really believe dogs benefit so much from this experience. The different sounds, smells, and being around water is very calming to themā¦.well maybe not to Bubbles š I canāt say it enough, bring your dogs here for the experience plus you get all the pictures and videos she sends you after. I wish I would have know about this place earlier in my life. Thank you @savednsocal for telling me about this place ā¤ļø Of course we will be back soon āļø
Fridays are made for another wonderful Pupdate. This time we are showcasing our superstar West Valley resident BUBBLES (previously known as Lexi) who was adopted almost a year ago. Bubbles came into the Shelter as a stray and her family did not come looking for her. She was underweight and had thinned out hair. It's crazy what proper care and love can do for our animals. She was quickly adopted by her new mom. She now has a lovely dog pack to call her own. She goes on long walks, heads to the beach on weekends, goes paddle boarding, and has won agility competitions. Her mom says "Adopting Bubbles from the West Valley LA Shelter has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. From the very beginning, she has brought so much energy and personality! Everyday with her is an adventureāwhether weāre playing, training, or just relaxing. Life with Bubbles is fuller, happier, and never boring! Iām just grateful that I found Bubbles." Bubbles First Dog Agility Trial! February 25th was her first practice which means besides practicing at home, we had a grand total of (8) practices with a coach. Our coach told me ādonāt even think about winningā¦just go out there and get lots of data and have lots of fun.ā And we did just that! The Teeterš¶
How it started vs howās it going now!!!
The teeter in dog agility was something I wanted Bubbles to not just conquer but to actually enjoy. The movement and noise can scare dogs. None of my other dogs want nothing to do with it no matter the reward. The teeter requires balance and confidence. We did balance exercises and rewarded with lots of praise and treats. In the last few weeks, Bubbles has done so well with the teeter that I think she actually loves it ā¤ļø
Small dog yoga is the new āitā thing and hereās why! Zen yoga + lots of cute dogs = the most āpawsitiveā feeling ever and we recommend you give it a try.
