I guess if you paddle around at your local for 40 odd years, a good one will eventually come your way. Thanks @billmorris for capturing my best wave of 2025.
I remember when the stretch towards the beach end of Curlewis street was flanked by The Champions Bar, BB’s and Bambusia restaurant; the stories those tumbled walls could tell. No doubt others have memories that stretch further back. Today the road is framed by cranes, with units under construction on either side. Developers promise a mere nine million for a three bedroom apartment purchased off the plan. Ah how things have changed. Meanwhile, the Bondi Hotel still stands proudly on the corner, its fabled clock marking time…
Dad’s birthday, but Akio gets to blow out the candles and unwrap the gifts - watching him grow up is the best present I could hope for. Thanks Akio and Aprilla for making it a great day.
Please donate to my SurfAid Make a Wave Campaign so these Indo groms have an enough fresh water and good nutrition to paddle rings around the guy on the inside taking their waves. Link in Bio … Thankyou on behalf of the groms. Only a few days left in September to donate.
Stoked to be involved with the Jack McCoy Australian Surf Film Fest.
Have fond memories of watching Jack’s films and last night Noa Deane and Harry Bryant were great company on stage for the Australian Premiere of ‘Snapt 5.’
Several films playing this weekend as part of the festival. Go check them out. Photos @hannahandersonmedia
