RinniR - Split Release with Interstate 35 (2026) °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° My first acquaintance with Wolfram Reiter's discography occurred towards the end of 2024, when I bought a cassette tape "Green River Killer" by the then unknown Interstate 35 project in a Viennese store. He was one of the first, if not the first, to start playing noise and experimental music in Vorarlberg. What I heard on this release could be described as "nihilistic noise attacks" that lasted no more than 30 seconds. I was intrigued, and a few months later I contacted Wolfram to buy new cassettes from him. Word for word, email for email and live meetings by attending each others perfomances in Vorarlberg. During one of the conversations it became clear that we needed to create something together. I suggested that he create a split as the same Interstate 35, whose last release was over 20 years ago. So here we are - in a world of abstract images created from distorted guitars and hypnotic drone. The release was released on CD and cassette in limited editions of 50 and 30 copies respectively. The DIY inlays were created by Wolfram himself with additional inking - each copy is unique and has no repetitions. (During the duplication of the discs, some were created with a defective first track, which is interrupted by white noise and fragments of other Wolfram works. Mai 2026 Box, Vorarlberger Landestheater Seestraße 2, Bregenz (GER) Ein experimentelles Projekt, 2022 vom ukrainischen Künstler Fuad Buaita gegründet, der in Österreich lebt und arbeitet und Musik im Ambient- und Noise-Genre produziert. Inspiriert von William Basinski und der japanischen Noise-Szene, insbesondere von The Gerogerigegege und Keiji Haino, verfolgte das Projekt das Ziel, Melancholie und „farbenfrohen Nihilismus“ klanglich zu erzeugen. Hierfür wurden Synthesizer, Rauschen, verlangsamte oder rückwärts abgespielte Gitarrenparts und Tonbandschleifen verwendet. Die Songtitel waren stets persönlich und drückten die Emotionen aus, die diese Klangwände aus Drones und Geräuschen inspirierten. Das Projekt trat live in Deutschland und Österreich auf, und Alben wurden auf Underground-Labels wie Attenuation Circuit, Epileptic Media und Kyivpastrans Records veröffentlicht. Inspired by the work of William Basinski and the Japanese noise scene, particularly The Gerogerigegege and Keiji Haino, the aim was to recreate melancholy and "colourful nihilism" in sound through the use of synthesizers, static, slowed down or reversed guitar parts and looped tapes. The song titles were always personal and conveyed the emotions that inspired these walls of all kinds of drones and noises. The 18 minute piece called "Ritual" was made back in December 2024 using a Behringer Crave, drone generators and white noise. Everything was recorded on cassette and did not undergo further equalization or mastering to preserve the authenticity of the sound. The photo for the cover was taken in a forest area near me.
