@bthemethod ♾️ This is the number one question I get asked, and also the easiest to answer. When I created the method, after a decade of teaching Pilates, I was in my mid-30s with two little toddlers, and I desperately needed a way to get strong and reconnect with my body and mind - efficiently, effectively, and from the comfort of my home. Fast forward to now: as a strong (and proud of it!) 42-year-old, I haven’t done another workout since @bthemethod was born. There’s simply no need when it’s easy to stay consistent, see results, break plateaus with variety, and feel calm and strong at the same time. The connection between your pelvic floor and exercising barefoot is very VERY real, and incredibly important for deep core strength, alignment, and long-term movement quality. There’s a fascial connection from your feet to your inner thighs to your pelvic floor, which means the more active and aligned your feet are, the better your pelvic floor can respond, engage naturally, and coordinate with your breath. Yes, we want to learn how to engage the pelvic floor properly—but even more importantly, we want to create the conditions where it naturally participates. Read that again! I woke up this morning with a little more pep in my step than I’ve felt for a minute. To be completely honest, we’ve been parenting and adulting really hard lately, and it’s been a little all-consuming. I think parents can attest to how hard it is to think about anything other than your child when times get tough.   But through all the personal ups and downs, the ability to move in our livestreams with you all has been therapeutic, cathartic, and so uplifting. Even though @bthemethod is technically “work,” I value this movement for my body and mind just as much as I hope you do too.   So let’s hit the mat together this week and feel the support, strength, and connection of our incredible global community.
