Dita Von Teese’s iconic Vivienne Westwood couture wedding dress fitting in London.
I spent several days with Dita in London covering her fittings. Flew to Paris for more and LA for the first ceremony and Ireland for the long wedding weekend. There was a beautiful feature written by Hamish Bowles published in Vogue.
The dress has an interesting story behind it, as it was not designed by Vivienne herself but by Andreas Kronthler! In a podcast with @gottmik and @violetchachki , @ditavonteese revealed she did not like Vivienne’s original idea and said it was very hard to tell her she wanted something else! Vivienne then asked Andreas to design the gown. Despite appearing purple, the gown is actually red and blue silk.
She also had a matching hat made by @stephenjonesmillinery and @christianlouboutin heels
The dress is one of the most memorable and iconic wedding dresses of all time.
