Spring has sprung and construction is in full swing! At BSD, that means boots on the ground. We’re taking a cue from ASLA's World Architecture Month's Week 3 Theme: Action Through Learning, and seizing the opportunity to prioritize field-based growth, because expertise doesn't come from sitting behind a screen!
From observing tree cranings and hardscape installation at Sibley Memorial Hospital to documenting viewsheds at Douglass Bridge Park to inspecting bioretention facilities at Prince George's County’s Blueprint Schools, these excursions are excellent opportunities to provide in-field mentorship and hands-on experience to our young designers. We’re proud of our team's commitment to our projects and the time we take to educate each other on industry best practices in the field. Seeing project progress in real life is not only exciting, it helps us learn and grow as a firm and as individuals!

This #WICWeek2026 we want to highlight the incredible women on the Bradley Site Design team who make everything we do possible. From the first concept sketch to the final site walkthrough, their eye for detail and passion for sustainable and equitable design are shaping the way we view the world around us. We’re so lucky to have such a talented group inspiring our studio every day. Cheers to you all!

We were honored to attend the dedication of the Catholic Charities Conway Education Center this week, celebrating the transformation of this space into an inclusive outdoor learning environment.
Designed with accessibility, shade, sensory planting, and interactive play in mind, this courtyard now supports hands-on learning and everyday joy for students of all abilities.
We are grateful to be part of the team that helped bring this vision to life!

As we wrap up the first working week of 2026, we’re taking a moment to reflect. While 2025 brought its share of challenges, it was also filled with wins, laughter, and meaningful growth. Looking ahead, we’re energized by what’s possible. Together with our collaborators and community partners, Bradley Site Design is excited to keep designing with purpose and creating real, local impact in the year ahead.

Another year of decadent design at Gingertown DC! Our “BSD Brazilian Boardwalk” featured candy critters, tropical trees, and interpretive educational signage for this year’s theme: Gingertown World’s Fair. While we didn’t take home a title ("Most Creative Application of Theme" was not a category), we loved being part of this sweet community event supporting some incredible nonprofits!

Bradley Site Design joined the Torti Gallas + Partners team this weekend for CANstruction, hosted by the District Architecture Center in partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank. Together, we created “Nacho Picchu,” a can-structed twist on Machu Picchu, to help raise awareness and support the fight against food insecurity in our local community.
We love collaborating with our architectural and design partners on meaningful fundraising events that make a real difference. 🤝💛

At Bradley Site Design, landscape architecture and civil engineering work hand in hand — creating site designs that are as functional as they are beautiful.
From shaping the land to integrating stormwater systems seamlessly into the design, our collaborative approach ensures that every element enhances the whole site. Together, our teams bring creativity, technical precision, and innovation to every project we touch.

Last week, our Founder and Principal, Sharon Bradley, joined an inspiring panel at the Women In Construction Conference to share her journey as a business leader in the AEC industry.
The discussion highlighted the power of mentorship, collaboration, and chasing a bold vision, as well as the impact that women continue to make across the field. We are proud to support Sharon and the next generation of women who are taking strides to uplift our local communities through construction and design.

BSD was happy to welcome an incredibly engaged group of landscape architecture students from Penn State this week to provide a glimpse of what it's like to work in our multidisciplinary studio. Thanks @psularch for stopping by!
