Adventure Time has lots of amazing and somewhat horrifying moments in it where Finn is confronted with the surrealness of having a body, and I wanted to capture that in a way that shows how close jake is to finn's heart hahaha

Knocked this piece out last night, and I'm so darn happy with it!! Very proud to say this was made entirely in Blender, from the 2D elements to the animated shaders on the background. Was very fun to see it come together!
This'll be the first sticker on September's sheet, I really don't know what to call it cause I'm really just going for Funky Jet Set Radio inspired stuff this month hahaha

Blender Compositor Experiments
I've been getting some really fun results using Blender's compositor to fuzz some edges based on value then running a kuwahara to denoise. I've also applied a paper texture displaced based on hue to give each shape a distinct seam on the texture to make the effect less static.
I might make a short video breaking some of this down, but I really recommend you check out @jamesnoellert work, really great illustrations!

This year, I've slowed down with the sticker club to allow myself a bit more time to work on larger projects like Songs of the Shore, but I'm finally sending out a new batch of stickers for supporters in April!
I had a lot of fun running the monthly sticker club in previous years, but it was difficult to carve time out for the larger projects while always being in sticker club mode! It means a lot to have all your support for my work, and I'm so grateful I get to keep creating every day!
If you haven't kept up with the sticker club changes, main thing is now the sticker rewards are based on all time support rather than what tier you're in! some thoughts on being patient with myself and my art
i've put a lot of energy into what feels like practices and tricks to improve my habits, and in a lot of ways, i think i was weaponizing those ideas against myself. every new "trick" i learned to be more productive was an attack on how i saw myself. "i must be so lazy because i need to do things like this to get my work done."
i might not ever truly figure myself out, but i know that my work is immediately so much more joyful when i can get out of my own way and come to the work with patience.

the first time meg and I talked was about the little prince. this year I wanted to make a video game for her bday inspired by it. it was a lot harder to keep it a surprise this year, but I spent 2 weeks putting this together for her bday.
meg cares more than anyone I know, and it feels like these days a lot of the world is bent on getting people to stop caring. so thanks for caring about me meg <3
this game was super inspired by my pal heytibo who is making a really wonderful indie game called Wild Cosmos (also very super Mario Galaxy /the little prince inspired)
