Spent the week shooting up in the San Juans with the best of people for the Trew To You film tour! It was a true honor witnessing the friendship Analise & Maddie share, and so inspiring skiing alongside the burliness Analise, Maddie, & Nils exhibit in the backcountry. Here are some things I learned from a week for the books:
1. Kiddie sleds are meant for more than propelling kids down hills - they also make for an average gear hauling apparatus
2. My spirit animal might be a mountain goat
3. Waking up at 5am is worth it
4. Holy shredders!!
5. Magnetic eyelashes don’t mean you have magnets in your eyelids as I previously thought
6. Small stick and big stick make good fire
7. Skins not only stick well to skis but also to themselves…maybe even better to themselves
8. We did not in fact learn how an inhaler works
9. The stink bug is the superior trick
10. Rafts may work even better than kid sleds for hauling, except when coming across any amount of dirt
11. Always make time for a sunset
12. This year has been extremely concerning with the winter we’ve had, and it’ll likely only get worse
13. Film transitions look cool once they’re edited, but are so silly when filming
14. Maddie is steezmaster 3000
Gotta admit, this year has already been well & truly fucked by the politics of it all, but still grateful for the lil things and my goofy gang of friends (& alpacas)
