First time in Alberta @calgaryexpo this weekend!
It was incredible to meet such amazing and talented people like @ashleyeckstein , @mariaxzhang , @cameronmonaghan and @emanesfandi that made the trip very special. Youāve all been so kind and I appreciated each conversation about these shows and games that have been foundational to my life.
As my first con that was not exclusively Lego-focused, it was really neat to see a huge blend of so many different fans and themes, and Iām definitely looking forward to upping my cosplay game next time š
Another Halloween, another epic Star Wars costume combo.
Iāve been cooking up this Boba Fett cosplay for around a year now between some Etsy purchases and a few of my own additions. It may be a pain to suit up each time with all the individual Velcro pieces, but itās so worth it. Boba has been one of my all-time favorite fictional characters, so itās great to finally cosplay as him.
Big thanks to Taylor as always for being the better dressed half of the costume as Bobaās right hand assassin, Fennec Shand š
Oh yeah, and I made some Boba-themed boba drinks to go with it, because what other food could be more fitting.
Master Chief next year?
The fair-est group of them all. šŖāļø
Had a great time at the Koroneburg Renaissance Fair with everyone. And yes, we all bought swords like cool people.
Halloweekend 2022 - the first Dempsey Halloween party in years, and back in full swing.
This year, Taylor and I chose Carl & Ellie in their younger years from āUpā. We know that many balloons could never actually lift a house, but she always lifts my spirits š
Thanks to Kaiya AKA āDougā for the cameo. And thanks to everyone who came by on Saturday, it was a great party.
Hereās to a year of recovery before the next one.
Decided to DIY our costumes in the next Star Wars installment. Feeling like pro cosplayers already š¤£š¤£
In typical Halloween fashion, our costumes didnāt arrive after months of waiting, so we created our own from my favorite Star Wars game, Jedi: Fallen Order.
It was such a fun project and really makes Halloween so much more enjoyable!
So happy Halloween from Cal Kestis and Nightsister Merrin!
Today, I finally started a full-time job! Iāve been working with two amazing internships over the last year with some high-profile clients in the SaaS/media space. Now, Iām happy to have one job to dedicate my time and help this agency grow.
Damage is a really cool creative marketing agency if youāre interested because they actually care about the brands they help. Over the last year, I got to work with many agencies, including LEGOās own - Initiative, that have just become too large and no longer truly care about the content theyāre making.
Itās been great seeing the brands Iāve already brought to Damage and excited to start prepping the move down to L.A. soon!
Hope everyone else has been well, truly.
Took me a week, but it finally feels real. Iām completed with school⦠forever!
Iāve spent the last few weeks deciding between 4 full time job offers in digital marketing, and been working 60 hours a week on top of that for the last few months š³
Everyone that knows me well knows Iām not sentimental at all, but I will forever cherish all the people Iāve met so far in my life, from elementary school to college, and even lego conventions across the world. Iāve become such a fortunate person in this world and wake up happy every day because I know I have so much support out there from friends, family and coworkers, and it means a lot.
Life is moving really fast, from completing a bachelorās degree in 3 years to choosing a full time job and starting to move out the week after graduation, but Iāve been taking some time to really reflect on all the great things experiences Iāve had so far.
Iām so excited for the next few years and beyond, theyāre going to be great!
Iāll probably post something again when I end up working for Lego in a few years ;)
