Started off 2020 by obtaining my driving license in Jan. I still remember the day when I had my first practical lesson in Oct 2019 - behind the wheel, nervous yet excited to be learning a new skill. Never thought this experience would bring so much joy to me. I actually looked forward to every single practical session after that and driving lessons just ended up being like therapeutic sessions for me.
Thereafter, I decided to find a part-time job. Several considerations went through my mind, but I thought to myself that I should try an industry which I probably wonāt venture into after I graduate. I decided on F&B and joined Tiong Bahru Bakery as a service staff. Not gonna lie, the initial stage was rather daunting. I had to welcome customers, upsell their products, always put on a smile - all of which required so much talking and persuasion which I hardly ever do. But after a few weeks, these somehow just came naturally to me. I felt myself growing and changing which was super fulfilling.
One of the skills I actually wanted to learn was latte art so I decided to find a 2nd part-time job at a cafe. The soft skills I have gained from TBB were more or less transferable. It was also interesting to compare the differences in how the 2 outlets operate. But, I finally had the opportunity to learn how to make coffee. It merely started out as a pure interest, but I actually ended up learning so much more - I recall spending hours just researching on coffees, milk steaming and latte art videos. So much technique involved. It was also an area I had zero experience in. As expected, I failed at my first few attempts in creating the latte art. But, the very moment I managed to produce a somewhat ādecentā design, I recall having goosebumps all over. I was so so happy. It was a feeling I havenāt felt in such a long time.
Went back to 10 C4I Bn in July to receive an award. It was so nice to see all the familiar faces again. Truly humbled to have received the award. It really motivated me to work even harder in life.
Despite these difficult times, 2020 has been a year of self-exploration and discovery. Truly grateful for these rewarding experiences. Hereās to a better 2021!

Everything felt so surreal. I still canāt believe Iāve actually witnessed her performances live in front of my very eyes, after watching her behind the screen for close to 8 years. Thank you for giving us such a splendid line-up of performances. Honoured to be part of the audience in your first ever concert in 2019 (and also your first solo concert in Singapore).
A very big thank you to this amazing bunch of people for making the past 8 weeks in SI such a memorable one. Will definitely miss the daily banters and jokes that never fail to brighten my day. All the best for your upcoming unit life. Hope you will cherish your new experiences as you embark on a brand new journey. Speed Through Skills, Signals! [190318 - 140518]
Donning the uniform again after so many years but this time, for a different purpose. A big thank you to everyone, especially my section mates, for making the past 9 weeks so fulfilling and memorable. Jia yous for your vocational training. 2 years have passed in a blink of an eye, and I still vividly recall the days when we just sit outside LT5 during our break and play burning bridges almost every day. Created a lot of indelible memories with you guys. Weāve already come this far, so press on everyone, I believe we can achieve our goals and succeed as a class!
