Bryan Nichols is a Twin Cities jazz veteran with the rolodex to prove it. This October, Nichols invites collaborators from many different corners of the improvised music scene—including Erik Fratzke, Christopher Rochester, and Emma Garau—to perform with him at Berlin.
Two separate Nichols trios will play on the same evening. Happy Apple drummer Dave King will feature in a Monk appreciation band. Kaleena Miller will return from NYC to debut tap-inflected dance at Berlin, and Nichols’s eight-person group We Are Many will test the boundaries of Berlin’s cozy stage.
