On Christmas Day we celebrate what we have been waiting and looking forward to all Advent season! The birth of a baby, Jesus. Rejoice with me as you read Luke 2:10-12:
“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for see, I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.”
All five candles are now lit.
Our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, we rejoice today that you came into this world. Your birth fills us with hope for the future, peace for today, joy that overcomes our sorrows, and love for our neighbors. Oh Beautiful God, may the light you bring last in our hearts long after the candles burn out. Amen.
