Did a walk through of P/V Golden Gate the other day. She’s a beast. Has twin MAN 1,200 HP Tier III engines, Hamilton HTX52 waterjets, and a Humphree ride control system for 30+ knots top speed. It also meets California Air Resources Board emissions standards… $9MM, or so I understand.
Sylvia is out with @swimsintheswells on a Round-Trip Angle Island attempt. This ten mile , cross current course is hard, but the tides for today require a late afternoon start, so we also get some awesome wind, swell, and chop… Water is 58°, wind chill is lower 50s.
Considering Lauren has completed six of the Ocean’s Seven, these conditions are nothing new and she’s been training with us for years is all sorts of ugly like this.
