This started because I was tired.
Tired after long days, long shoots, and long shifts and not wanting to clean brushes over a sink when I got home.
I couldn’t find anything on the market that did it properly, so I started sketching my own idea.
In between work, motherhood, and real life, Brushdoc slowly came to life.
Going on five years it’s won awards, is stocked in Brown Thomas, Arnotts, and Selfridges UK, and is used by celebrities and artists all over the world.
We’ve even had knock-offs which, strangely enough, tells me we built something worth copying.
Thank you to every customer, supporter, stockist, and person who believed in this idea.

Just reflecting, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride in my journey. Leaving school at 14 without qualifications and living with dyslexia always made me feel inadequate. But, I'm so proud that Brushdoc, the brand that Gary and I created from nothing only 3 years ago, Is now stocked in all Selfridge's stores.Starting this business was the best decision I ever made. It can be extremely hard, the highs are the highest and the lows are rock bottom. Just watching Brushdoc grow and seeing our products embraced by customers and the support they've given us has proven that I can achieve hard things and to keep going. As we celebrate nearly three amazing years in business, I find myself reflecting a lot. Sometimes, I can be a bit hard on myself, thinking I should be doing more or reaching higher. But when I take a moment to look back at everything we’ve achieved in such a short time as a new company, I realize it’s so important to celebrate those wins!
I do have my moments of doubt, especially when it comes to our social media presence and follower count. Honestly, I sometimes feel a bit anxious about being online and worried about what others might think. But I’ve made a promise to myself that by 2025, I’ll work on being better and looking back with pride on our journey.
It’s been quite the emotional rollercoaster, something every entrepreneur can relate to but I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.
