February 13th from 8-10 AM, there will be a restoration party at Hummingbird Canyon, located between Franz Hall and the Geology Building.
Come get to know this alley full of native plants which provide habitat for birds, bugs, and other fauna while removing invasive species and sowing wildflower seeds! Feel free to drop by for as long as you are available! Gloves and tools will be provided, and no prior experience is required.π»

Next Thursday (10.23) Bruin Birding Club will be having a guest speaker, Michael Chen, from Audubon California's policy team speaking at general meeting!

Michael Chen is the Senior Manager of Government Relations at Audubon California, where he advocates for policies that protect birds, people, and ecosystems across the state. Born and raised in Southern California, he has a deep-rooted commitment to public service and environmental policy. He previously served as a Legislative Director in the California State Assembly, working on a range of policy issues. Michael earned a Masterβs in Public Administration from the University of Southern California in 2016.
Michael will be presenting on different ways that students can engage with policy advocacy, with time for a Q&A. This presentation will be geared towards any students that are curious about how to advocate for better policies for birds and people in their communities, but don't know where to start.
Bruins taking flight! Feathered-friend enthusiasts gathered for a @bruinbirding field trip to the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve.
The official @audubonsociety student chapter at @ucla regularly hosts field trips like this, as well as campus bird walks, educational events, and workshops. The club also develops and implements conservation projects that restore habitat for birds on campus, and works to make birding more inclusive and accessible. All members of the UCLA community are welcome to join!
