Kulata Tjuta (Many Spears) on now as part of the 25th Biennale of Sydney at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Led by senior Pitjantjatjara man Frank Young, this powerful installation brings together around 1500 handmade spears, created by Aṉangu men across generations on the APY Lands. Inspired by the memory of spears moving “like a dark cloud across Country,” the work speaks to past battles, resilience, and the ongoing fight to protect culture, Country and future generations. Presented within the Biennale’s theme Rememory, Kulata Tjuta honours the strength of cultural knowledge, carried from elders to young men, and shared with the world. Thank you to @weldstories Shannon, Jess, Tiggy, Shay and Gab for this beautiful video 💛 @biennalesydney @artgalleryofnsw @tjalaarts #BiennaleOfSydney #Rememory #KulataTjuta #FrankYoung #APYLands

Super proud of Dylany, who went and found and paid for his own suit for his friend’s quinceañera. Growing up so fast.

Last week I had the privilege of visiting Yindjibarndi Country a few hours out of Karratha and Roebourne to speak with Wendy Hubert about her works for the Biennale of Sydney. It’s utterly spectacular country and a shame to not stay longer, but I can’t wait to see Wendy’s works in Sydney!
