Bruce Weber first took this portrait of Elizabeth Taylor for "My Love Affair with Jewelry," which ultimately became the image selected to appear with her dedication at the beginning of the book. Bruce's image captured a sweet moment between Elizabeth and her beloved great-grandson Finn Wilding, in which she is wearing the legendary JAR "Ball" earrings by Joel Rosenthal, inspired by all the colors in Elizabeth's iconic eyes — their blues, greens, and violets captured in glittering gemstones. This photograph appears in Bruce’s current exhibition, “Try A Little Tenderness,” on view at Fahey/Klein Gallery in Los Angeles through June 6th.

I know there are so many great performances and exhibitions in NYC right now, but if you go to the Cafe Carlyle on East 76th Street, you will be knocked out with joy hearing @petercincotti sing and play the piano like no one you’ve heard since Art Tatum. His band includes the great @tonyglausi on trumpet and keyboards (yes, that’s right), @chuckgeezy on drums (“beyond”), @mjaffebass on bass (the coolest), and @scottkreitzermusic on saxophone (“unforgettable”). Now through May 2nd (only a couple nights left.) FOR INFO SEE LINK IN BIO. I’ve known Peter since he was already a great musician, before he was 17. There’s also a good album from “Live at Cafe Carlyle” I recommend you check out. Thank you, Peter and your bandmates. Here are some pictures I’ve taken of Peter over the years. I know his wife would like them. xBW

INTERVIEW. Vol.XXII No.2. February 1992. 1/2 Wild Half Child. “Marky” Mark Wahlberg by Bruce Weber. Styling: Joe McKenna. Autographed by Bruce Weber @bruce_weber ♡ Luis + Marky Mark ♡ Luis + Bruce Weber Published monthly in New York, since 1969 by Motion Olympus Inc. (from 1969 to 1987) and Brant Publications since 1987. In 1992, the actor now known as Mark Wahlberg was a young rapper known as Marky Mark, and also probably the hottest guy of the 90s, perhaps of all time, actually. At that time his astonishing body and his cheeky fun attitude made teenagers all over the world pine for him. Every time that I start a new issue of EY! Magateen and search for the boy I want to feature in my magazine, Marky Mark is still the prototype that comes to mind. In the early 90s besides starring in the popular fitness video The Marky Mark Workout, Marky Mark modeled for the Calvin Klein underwear campaigns with a super young Kate Moss photographed by Herb Ritts. And he also starred in this unforgettable cover of Interview, photographed by Bruce Weber. I’m really lucky that Weber himself was so kind to sign my copy especially for me. It’s now one of the most precious pieces in my collection. Images + Text from Fanzine137, 2014. 19.137. My Favorite Double Pages + Covers From my Library* Published @byluisvenegas

I want to thank the city of Los Angeles for the incredible support they have shown for my exhibition at Fahey-Klein gallery, “Try A Little Tenderness.” It had been 10 years since I was in California for work, ando many things have changed—robot cars and delivery wagons are everywhere, neighborhoods have vanished in the fires, and great friends in photography and film like Paul Jasmin, Howard Bingham and Joel Schumacher now chase their light among the stars. But I found the beating heart of the city as strong and vibrant as ever. The pancakes at the Fountain Coffee Room are still the best. The shadowy corners of the Chateau Marmont still inspire the best gossip. Fahey-Klein Gallery still feels like a home away from home for my work. And the friends who came out for the opening and the artist’s talk and book signing—old timers and new faces alike—reminded me why it’s called the “City of Angels.” A special thank you to the whole team from @faheykleingallery for giving me a space to share this selection of work. It took courage, kindness and hard work in equal measure from @davidfahey48 @a_fahey53 @nicholaspfahey @ms.heathercronan @mr.marcopaez @sendcashplease @nicolephillipsboyle to make this show happen, and I am so grateful. A big hug for the generous hospitality to @lisaeisnerjewelry , Eric Eisner, Jeff Klein, Lynn Von Kersting, Richard Irving, @ivyrestaurants @stewartshining @lilyhahnshining @jamiebushco @stinky_rat @johnscanlonhbb and the whole team @bevhillshotel . “Try A Little Tenderness” is up through June 6th. If you decide to stop by, feel free to bring your dog!
