So, last night we won an Icon award at the inaugural OpenTable Restaurant Awards.
How wonderful is that!
Thank you @opentableuki for this recognition, our incredible team and all of our wonderful customers for your continued support!
Grazie di cuore!
For the uninitiated.
WE PLAY MUSIC…
Brutto is not a silent restaurant. We play an eclectic mix of pop, rock, soul, jazz, blues, electronica and lots of Russell’s favourite, Prince.
Combined with the buzz of lively conversation, it is often considered loud for some, but exactly how we like it.
It was always part of our philosophy to create a fun environment, somewhere between a bar, restaurant and nightclub.
If you like a quieter restaurant serving excellent Italian regional cooking, we highly recommend Vasco & Piero’s Pavilion, Luca, Locanda Locatelli, Bocca di Lupo, Ciao Bella, Trullo, The River Cafe, and many more.
We hope you still come to Brutto with this in mind.
Xx

May 1st in Italy, called La Festa del Lavoro or Primo Maggio, is a national public holiday celebrating workers’ rights. It’s usually marked by union parades, live concerts, and laid-back things like family picnics and time spent relaxing with loved ones.
A lot of shops and some museums are closed, but the overall vibe is really lively, with free music events happening across the country - especially the huge “Concertone” in Rome.
Here at Brutto we are working, but we’ll make it as fun as we possibly can still !

Vignarola.
A firm favourite of Russell’s.
How could I forget him turning up every Spring time at both Polpo and Brutto, urging us to start podding broad beans he’d brought in from home haphazardly tucked into his tote bag.
Matt has thoughtfully put today’s dish together. The fresh, vibrant flavours of a Tuscan Spring when the days begin to stretch a little longer. Best enjoyed at room temperature, ideally with a crusty slice of sourdough close at hand.
