Meet Christian Kerl, Manager Operational Technology at BRP‑Rotax.
Christian and his team are at home on the shopfloor - right where production and technology meet. They take care of everything between the PLCs and SAP ME: programming our assembly lines, integrating CNC machining centers, and ensuring reliable data communication, storage, and analysis.
What matters most to him is that the systems run smoothly and that the people in production can rely on the technology every day.
Another key focus is Shopfloor AI, which his team is gradually introducing into the manufacturing environment. Together with IT, he also works on strengthening cybersecurity in this area - a topic that continues to grow in importance as production becomes more connected.
His responsibilities extend well beyond Gunskirchen: The Operation Technology (OT) team supports the design and operation of systems for our site in Querétaro as well.
"What I enjoy about OT is that we’re close to the production and close to the people," Christian says. "Every day brings new challenges, and together we find solutions that help move our manufacturing and machining areas forward."

We loved the energy at this year’s Girls’ Day in Gunskirchen. 14 students joined us for a deep dive into the world of BRP-Rotax. No boring PowerPoints here – just pure hands-on tech. ⚡️
From coding Cobots to crafting personalized gear with our laser engravers, these girls showed us how it’s done. Our apprentices were right there to share their journey and show that a career in tech is anything but ordinary!

Meet Valentina, who is responsible for driving learning and development within the ROTAX Academy and shaping how competence building evolves at RIC / BRP‑Rotax.
In her role, Valentina takes ownership of the learning agenda – ensuring that development initiatives are aligned with business needs, organizational priorities, and long‑term strategy. She is responsible for designing and advancing learning formats, supporting employees along their development journeys, and strengthening the organization by helping clarify roles, responsibilities, and required competencies.
Her work brings together strategy, learning architecture, and people development. By closely collaborating with teams, leaders, and partners, she ensures that learning is not an isolated activity, but a structured and integrated enabler for growth across the organization.

More than just a game: It’s a kick off for local talent
There’s a special kind of energy at a local football pitch, and it’s the same energy we value at BRP-Rotax. We are talking about the drive, the passion, and the teamwork visible on and offside the pitch. Especially if this pitch is located in our home community at the @unionhumergunskirchen .
Last weekend our general manager, Mario Gebetshuber, had the pleasure to not only perform the ceremonial kick-off at the recent championship match but also to hand over new team jerseys for the U14 and U16 players, marking a fresh chapter for these young athletes.
Supporting young talent is a conscious decision for us, as the values young players experience on the pitch – teamwork and unity – strongly resonate with what drives us at BRP‑Rotax every day. Supporting youth sports is something we truly value, and we’re proud to contribute on this occasion and be part of such a meaningful moment.
