SCOTT SPORTS X SNOWBASIN 🌞
-
A few weeks ago, we got the chance to announce a partnership between @scottsportsusa and @snowbasinresort .
We could’ve dropped a couple photos with logos slapped on them, but that’s not how we roll.
I wanted to go HARD. Two local legends coming together deserved more than the bare minimum.
So with my ragtag crew of misfits with cameras, we made it happen.
Huge shoutout to my team and the incredible support from Scott Sports along with extra Basin winter footage from @jonahwilliams and @andrewmildenberger ❤️
When you get the opportunity, make it count..

Getting a 🔪 in Kyoto
—
Such a cool experience meeting Master Nobuhisa Hayakawa (a third-generation knife maker and sharpener).
One of the few bucket-list things I wanted to do while in Japan was get some new knives. When I wrote down my last name for him to engrave on the knife, he laughed and said “Egg.” Apparently, that’s what “Roe” means in kanji. He kindly refused to engrave that on my knife 🥚
Fair enough.
Master Nobuhisa then showed off his sharpening skills by grabbing a piece of paper and slicing the knife through it like butter. He also showed me a couple of cool knives he was working on. I closed down the shop with him—he gave me a cookie, called me tall, and I was on my way.
Can’t wait to use these tools in the kitchen!

I’ve been driving Snowbasin Road for almost 7 years, keeping my eyes peeled for all sorts of wildlife. Which of course I see— but always when I don’t have my camera or when they’re disappearing into the trees. For years I’ve had my eyes on this exact spot. Mt. Ogden towering in the background, all I needed was a moose to pose for me.
Today was the day.
Do I wish it was snowy? Sure. Would it be cool to see it lush summer green? Of course. But that’s not what Mother Nature offered today. She provided cloudy skies, the muted greys of late fall before winter arrives, and a beautiful moose picking the last leaves off those trees before the season turns. Sometimes the moment you’ve been waiting for doesn’t look exactly how you imagined—and that’s what makes it perfect.
Thanks Moose 💙
