Being able to celebrate @bmorgansaks ’ belated birthday together in LA has been a dream. I wish we lived in the same city! But this brilliant woman is opening THE members club of all members club in Jacksonville, FLA @thejune_club so we will all be JAX people soon NO doubt. 4 YEARS! It dawned on me the other day I missed my four year anniversary of my heart surgery which fundamentally changed my life. Time is such a weird thing.
JUST over 4 years ago in the heart of COVID and just a couple months after moving to LA from NY, I learned I was in total heart failure.
I had been born with a leaky aortic valve which over time became something called aortic stenosis. I had to get an echocardiogram annually and I knew much later in life I would likely need a valve replacement. The only real downside I thought at the time was I could never get elective surgery because no anesthesiologist would touch me. Such is life.
Then I learned not only did my valve stop working sometime in 2020, but that my aorta itself went into overdrive to compensate and was very close to bursting. So on October 1, 2020 I had surgery that saved my life. I now have a 🐄 valve and a Dacron graft over my aorta. And my life changed. A weight I had always had in me (literally and figuratively) lifted. The inflammation that had ravaged me my whole life was gone and that changed everything. Anxiety that plagued me my whole life? Gone. Constant illnesses? Gone. Fatigue? Gone.
Get your🫀checked. It is the NUMBER ONE killer of women. Ask your doctor. It is so simple. Everyone should do it.

I was definitely born in the wrong era. Walking through the winding streets of Cambridge, @karaswisher and I came across this adorable shop and stepped back in time and that was that. I live here now.

And especially when @emmafreud asks you, with direction from Richard Curtis. Literally a dream. I still can’t feel my toes even though Emma says it was basically tropical temperature-wise, comparatively. (It was cold.)

12 years ago TONIGHT, I was given the greatest love of my life, @potato . He was a surprise 40th birthday gift presented to me at at my surprise 40th birthday party. The whole night was a blur and the fact that I didn’t kill him that night in fact is extraordinary since I basically blacked out.
In fact, @karaswisher was taking bets on how long it would take for me to either kill the dog or give up the dog.
12 years later, I’m happy to say I didn’t do either… And instead, he turned me from being somebody who did not believe she was a dog person into someone who is maybe the biggest dog person.

My baby is having another baby. Such a privilege to join my niece who is basically my baby sister/daughter, @heather.hh and her husband @klein76 for their SPRINKLE for baby #2 coming soon.
But the star of the show other than Heather was of course baby Romi who is a fierce little angel baby. Maybe due to her mom who is still teaching workout classes and running when she’s 8 months pregnant. And she learns that from her momma, @stacey_benderpr .

Can’t comprehend it. But I miss you today as much as I missed you yesterday and the day before and the day before that. And on and on. To infinity. ♾️

Diet in dogs!! I cannot stress enough how key this is to the health and wellness of your dog. Regardless of what stage of life they’re in regardless of whether they’re healthy we’re fighting something… Diet is key. Fresh food and anti-inflammatory things including bone broth for dogs and blueberries. 🫐🫐🫐

Well, I could talk about dogs and health all day… but I also love to talk about what so many of my friends and I are going through right now which is perimenopause.
These are words that our mothers never dared to say out loud… I’m so grateful to live in a time when we are all talking about it and have so much access to information. But there’s still not enough data or knowledgeable consensus. And today @myperi.co launched the first ever wearable for perimenopause… It is awesome. I’m wearing it now, and it gives us insights into all of our symptoms. So we can go to our doctors and show them that we’re not crazy!
Whether it’s perimenopause, heart health, all the things… Data around women is far behind where it should be. But we are making moves and I’m so grateful @myperi.co is doing this for perimenopause specifically!
