People in your life are either full of encouragement or full of criticism. But they’re both wrong. Neither of them is taking into account what YOU want. Who are YOU trying to become? They don’t know your Polaris Star. How can people give you advice if they don’t know what you’re trying to do? True mentorship is about giving you feedback based on YOUR mission. If finding that out is not the first question out of someone’s mouth, their advice is worthless. #truthlotion
Artists who make timelapses of their process are just caving in to the era of dopamine. They’re admitting out loud that the slow process of creation isn’t beautiful as it is. They haven’t learned that that 40 minutes of an artistic practice is also contained in one concentrated minute of that same process. #truthlotion
It’s easy to think other people have an unfair advantage. And that’s why they’re more “successful” than you. And that’s why they seem happier than you. But the truth is that they just made it through the hard part. Getting through the hard part is what creates momentum. #truthlotion
Passion = what you feel like doing. Purpose = what you do whether you feel like it or not. People with purpose have passion built-in. Except they don’t have time to tell you about it. They’re too busy making moves. You end up telling THEM. While people with “passion” without purpose will talk your ear off about that passion while not doing jack sh-t about it. #truthlotion
Imagine being part of a Mr. Beast type group like this, but with ALL ARTISTS(!)… Well, help has arrived. I’m starting INCUBATORS (for artists using video to promote their work). I match creatives into groups of 4, for weekly feedback sessions. Now you can finally grow faster than you would if you were doing it alone. It’s only available to my ride or dies right now, but keep an eye out for when it goes public. Only in ++CHRCH (powered by The Mystery School) #linkinbio
Creativity is not about forcing things into being. It’s about aligning yourself with your purpose and watching what unfolds when you express yourself. The creatives who struggle often haven’t done the first part. It’s this whole inner battle because they know they’re not saying anything with their art. Not having a message makes you keep choosing the outside world to give you meaning. Having a message is when you give yourself meaning regardless of what’s happening in the outside world. #truthlotiom
