Sometimes people catch glimpses of my life...
Whether friends... clients.. associates..
And they think it looks effortless. But I remember when I felt trapped, questioning who I was and what I was doing.
Even now, in a field that lauds "pick me" culture I still face doubts.
But I’ve learned to let myself enjoy the life I’m building..work, struggle, joy, all mixed in.
But here’s the thing... choosing joy, choosing self-fulfillment..that’s a choice we all have to make. And doesn't require having enuff money saved or making sure others are "okay" with it.
It took me a while, but I did.. no.. i DO.
And if you’re out there wishing...it’s in your hands too."

Scharf is a pivotal figure from New York City’s 1980s East Village art scene—known for his exuberant, Pop culture-infused style, often featuring characters inspired by The Flintstones and The Jetsons. Alongside icons like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, Scharf pioneered a ‘do-it-yourself’ practice that spans painting, sculpture, and street art.

As the founder of Woke Nation Studios, David is driving change—known for creating films about Black superheroes and powerful documentaries showcasing Black life. With over 4 million views on his Milestone Comics films and attention from industry giants like Netflix, David stands as a shining light in the St. Louis film world, paving the way for a more inclusive future.
