LIVE AT THE EL REY THEATRE — GREEK!🎶🎸 Last week I saw @idkgreek perform at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles for the Cedar’s Tape Tour! Another show, another rush of inspo, another set of very cool tour posters! All posters were made using stills I took that night — so much fun making these! A little loud, crowded, stimulating / A little diy, bright, independent. Scattered throughout, you can see the photos I used for reference as well as greek’s albums that inspired the color palettes (EXTC, Cedar’s Tape, and ACCELERATOR, respectively) His music is so high-energy, it’s impossible for me to sit still when he has so many hits that’s make you wanna dance. The MARCH Screening 🍀🍀🍀 My friend @cinephilecircus hosts an online movie club that meets monthly via Discord! Every month is themed and features movies that align with the topic of the month — the community votes from 4 different movies and the winner gets streamed for all to enjoy. ☀️💿And Things Are Starting To Feel Different… This time a year ago, I was going through a lot of personal changes — it wasn’t an easy journey by any means, but music has always been a friend to me during difficult times. During that time, I started compiling music into a throwaway playlist I made; it featured tracks I was really enjoying, songs my friends had put me on to, tracks that replicated feelings at the time. Eventually, I realized that this playlist had become much more than a compilation of music — to me, it became a capsule full of songs that made me feel warm, excited, happy, comforted. Since then, I’ve continued rearranging, adding, removing, replacing songs to better reflect & mirror the state of being. We’re never done evolving, changing - neither is this playlist. It’s alive like you and me. If you’re a friend of mine, I’ve probably played the music on this compilation for you without telling you how much it means to me. Of course, I couldn’t just share a playlist without giving it the whole treatment! Combining my love of music & design has made this little project mean so much to me. Busy week — didn’t get a chance to finish a graphic 😞 BUT I’ve been staying inspired by daily life. Through tv, food, music, even while running my errands — it’s important to notice those little slices of joy in days that are inundated with work, chores, or anything that makes days seem monotonous. It’s nothing serious… 🍑 This week, I was completely hyper fixated on like, 3 songs (this being one of them) — my Spotify must be tired of repeating them. Peach Fuzz by Tyler, The Creator is a throwaway track from the SCUM F*CK FLOWER BOY album — it only came to be released later, as a solo song unattached from the project; sonically, I totally understand why it wasn’t included but it absolutely stands on its own. It’s definitely one of my favorite tracks ever put out by Okonma. The inspiration was flowing, so I hope y’all don’t mind that I cooked up a version 1 & 2!
