Students at Broadmor Elementary recently stepped into the spotlight through the ABC15 Arizona Kidcasters program. Following an assembly led by meteorologist Jorge Torres, students learned what it takes to deliver a weather forecast before taking their turn on camera.
Then student council members put their new skills to the test by recording their own segments, introducing themselves and sharing the day’s high temperature like true TV reporters.

Broadmor Elementary Bobcats STICK together!
Each student and staff member created their own custom stick for the school’s newest bulletin board — a bright reminder that everyone is welcome, valued, and part of the Bobcat family.

Our next stop on the Arizona Gifted and Talented Education Week tour takes us to PACE gifted classrooms across the district where students are turning everyday problems into inventions for the Invention Convention competition.
A device that detects snakes on a hiking trail.
A tool that helps lift pets into cars.
A mess-free way for kids to enjoy a melting popsicle.
Some of the student inventions grew from imagination. Others came from empathy. But all began with curiosity.

Congratulations to District General Music Teacher ✨ Sommer Alire ✨ for being the newest Tempe Elementary Schools staff member to earn their National Board Certification. In addition to Sommer's new certification, Broadmor Elementary Literacy Coach ✨ Kristen Turco ✨ completed the requirements to maintain her certification.
National Board Certification is a highly respected professional credential in education, designed to develop, retain, and recognize exceptional teachers across the country.

The ASU Bio Club visited Broadmor Elementary recently to lead fifth graders through a strawberry DNA extraction lab! Students were able to explore real lab tools and techniques during this hands-on opportunity.

Last week, Broadmor Elementary third graders hosted Mortenson Construction for a glimpse into the world of construction. Together, they:
💻 Experienced how technology is used to bring blueprints to life
🏗️ Explored building costs and budgeting through building Lego structures
👷🏽♀️ Learned the importance of proper head protection in construction and everyday life
Experiences like this help students expand their horizons and open their futures to diverse and boundless opportunities.
Congratulations to Broadmor Elementary fifth grader Musiq Mills for creating the winning design for this year’s PACE Gifted Program t-shirt.
After earning top votes at the school level, her design was selected by the Tempe Parents for the Gifted in September. T-shirt sales from the annual contest support teachers with projects in their classrooms.
Congratulations to Broadmor Elementary 5th grade teacher Anisi Sheronick who was recently named the Tempe Elementary Teacher of the Year! ✨
Ms. Sheronick is known in the Bobcat community for fostering meaningful relationships with her students while also driving remarkable academic growth. Last year, 89% of her students scored in the high growth category for ELA on the AASA test – the highest in the entire district.
In addition to a surprise visit from Superintendent Dr. James Driscoll, Ms. Sheronick was also honored on the field at Saturday's ASU football game as part of the City of Tempe Night celebration. We are proud to have her on the Tempe Elementary team!
