This week! We’re closing out the semester with a two night festival of poets theater, featuring plays from my students (4/22) and the debut of Joyelle McSweeney’s KILLANOVA (4/23). Both nights start at 7pm in the RCAH Theater
Tracie Morris at @broadmsuart , 3/27/26. We learned something last night—about how to live in darkness, and how to sing. How to sing through it. Photo by @lchwyrd
This is gonna be a fun one: we commissioned Tracie Morris to create a new performance piece, in dialogue with @msubroad 's Spring 2026 show—a light installation by the artist Jan Tichy, which submerges the museum's central gallery in total darkness. Tracie will perform in, and in response to, that darkness. One night only! March 27th, 2026 at 7pm at the Broad.
Once more for the grid: in the new @annuleteditions I take a big swing and try to describe the changes in culture and poetics that we’ve witnessed in the past, oh, forty years of US poetry. RIYL: blaming the language poets for everything, meditating on the lost promise of the 1990s, materiality, anarchist collectives, the lyric, the avant-garde. Link in bio.
INTRODUCING: SUMMER SERIES, from the @centerforpoetry . #1 features Sarah Carson and Tari Muñiz at @hookedlansing , July 12 at 7pm! Stay tuned for more
