My brother asked me what about me would the 13 year old me be proud of.
My reply was, the 13 year old me would be proud of me figuring it out! Navigating this world is not easy. She would be proud of me sticking to my principles and staying the course. She would be proud of my ambition and work ethic. I believe I can do any mf thing I put my mind to and the 13 y/o me wasnāt that confident, but the 33 y/o me knows exactly who I am.
Basketball has saved my life and has taken me places little Bri would have never imagined. If I had to give advice to those still playing I would say, what youāre sacrificing and doing now for the love of the game is a setup for whatās to come because playing wonāt last but so long. So while you have the time, every single time you step on the court give it your all. Be the first one in the gym, and the last to leave. Perfect your game. Soak up knowledge from those who have been where you are because there is always room for growth. Be consistent, and donāt take any moment for granted because youāll be reflecting back on this time far sooner than you think. Donāt leave with regrets.
This chapter is preparing you for the next one. Let your character light up the room so much that it seems dull without you. There is so much more for you in store beyond a ball and a hoop. Enjoy the moments but know the world is waiting for you. Make that little 13 y/o you proud.

Nothing was going to stop me from witnessing this moment because I know how hard they worked for it. This team has come a long way since I first met them in September. They gave so much effort and dedication to getting better day in and day out. Iām glad I played a role in that.
