This summer, we’re returning to Manchester with another brand-new musical, The Clockmaker’s City, for our first ever show at the wonderful Z-arts!
Mainspring is a city run precisely to the tick and tock of the Clock. The Clock controls time itself, and as it ticks along, the townsfolk go about their business entirely synchronised to it. But time is about to be pushed to its limits as more minutes are squeezed into each hour and mystery surrounds the Central Horologium and its gently glowing Meridicore, the source of The Clock’s power. 🌆
The Clockmaker’s City invites families into a city on the brink of change. The brilliant writing team behind this epic, heartfelt story are Jonathan Ainscough and Yshani Perinpanayagam 🤩

It’s official, our 2026 Season is here! 🎉
This year we’re excited to bring you 14 new musicals: featuring five brand new productions opening across the country, alongside the revival of a much-loved BYMT show first seen 20 years ago in 2006, and another six new shows developed through our innovative summer camps.
We are thrilled to be working with 30 brilliant writers and composers and over 500 young performers, to deliver a season that reflects a wide diversity of stories and musical styles as selected by our Young Company Panel. 🌟

Last Thursday, Emily and Simon attended the Music & Drama Education Awards after BYMT were shortlisted for the MTI Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre (Music & Drama) and we won! 🙌
