Out today is the first tune from @joalicemusic ‘s debut album that we’ve been working on the past year or so. It’s in fact the first song she’s ever released unto the world despite years of playing gigs, writing songs and generally getting OUT THERE. “Give Me Some Good News (When I Call)” is much more stripped down than the rest of the record — it’s just Jo Alice’s unique alto vocal and her guitar. Tonight she celebrates its release with a solo gig at the Continental Gallery. Congrats Jo Alice!

Since 1986, Casa Marianella has been a place of refuge for asylum seekers, starting with a single house and growing into a network of shelters providing housing, food, legal support, ESL classes and more to thousands of people from countries such as Venezuela, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Cuba, Russia and more. Home is Here will be a coming-together of Austin musicians welcoming their new neighbors - and helping raise funds for a brand NEW shelter for women and children.
