E: Devotion to a Noble Idea, Inkjet print on Canvas, 2026
Thought Forms (Some Thoughts) takes its title from the 1905 book
Thought-Forms: A Record of Clairvoyant Investigation by the
Theosophists Annie Besant and C.W. Leadbeater.
The book attempts to visualize thoughts, emotions, experiences, and
music, proposing a symbolic relationship between color and feeling.
At its frontispiece, a chart of 25 color swatches assigns specific emotions to hues, ranging from “High Spirituality” (light blue) to “Malice” (black).
While evocative, these associations remain speculative, with no
scientific evidence supporting a direct correspondence between color and emotion.
Thought Forms (Some Thoughts) draws from this system while
holding it at a distance. I constructed a visual “score” based on a
musical composition, using the durations of seven distinct notes,
paired with seven subjectively selected colors from the Thought-
Forms chart, each assigned to a corresponding note.
The composition unfolds in a continuous loop, in which both the
musical and visual sequences remain constant. The only variation is the bass note / base color of the composition, which shifts across
six iterations, each represented here by a different visual score.

Rotation: blue, yellow, red. Gouaches on Arches paper, 52x52 inches.
Rotation Series:
This series of large circular paintings is a study in color processization. Using the premise of painting exclusively with primary colors – the traditional primaries of red, blue and yellow painted in a circular and ordered pattern of layers – striking differences, depths and a range of colors are created. Each ring is painted in one sitting, a single rotation of the circle without interruption. The circular shape of these paintings, a universal meditation on wholeness, timelessness and the cyclic nature of life continues a multi-year exploration of this subject.
